Motorola and Verizon have exactly 15 days left to upgrade the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX to Ice Cream Sandwich in order to make their self-imposed deadline of Q2. Through a text message that is going out to RAZR owners today, we can assume that they must be getting close. Big Red is informing owners of these devices that Android 4.0 will be here soon and that their current Mobile IM app will have to be replaced:

Free Verizon Message: Your phone will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0. At that time we will remove your Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app because it is not supported in Android 4.0. Please download a new instant messaging app to use IM on your phone. Thank you for using Mobile IM!

With a couple of leaked builds having made their way to handsets over the last month or so, we know that they are at least attempting to work their magic in hopes of getting it ready in time.  I’m sure you are more excited about the new Mobile IM app, right?

Cheers Jerry, Antony, Leland, and Nick!
