Google introduced a string of new features for their mobile search site today, and as you can see in the above image, are essentially just shortcuts at the bottom of the screen to make your searching super fast and efficient.  The mobile search will use your location to determine the hottest spots near you and will also include ratings for each, contact information and can even get you directions.  While Android users already enjoy these services through Google Maps and Places, you can’t help but toss Google a thumbs up for giving us yet another option. Video after the jump.

Later this week they are also releasing a tablet optimized search engine which all of the Honeycomb tablets in the market can take advantage of.  To check it out on your mobile browser, just head to google.com now.
