We’ve already featured a couple of Droid X appearances in OnStar commercials and print ads, but somehow missed this one. The commercial is called “Show Off” and features a guy using his DX and OnStar app to remotely check out his car before giving it up to his lady friend who is off to have a “girl’s weekend.” (more…)
The Droid Snowbot commercial has been updated again, only this time mentions the Droid 2 Global instead of the original Droid 2. We sort of knew this was coming after watching Verizon swap out the Droid X in the last spot for the Droid Pro. I mean, all they had to do was change one word in the end of the video plus toss in a new voice-over. Give their marketing department credit for this Swiss Army Knife commercial. (more…)
This whole not wanting to officially recognize the Droid 2 Global thing is starting to get silly. In this new ad which I just pulled from this month’s Details, Verizon introduces the Droid Pro (our review) to the family as the new global beast, only the D2G is also pictured without a mention Now, I think we all understand that they made a mistake by launching the original Droid 2 and are trying not to piss off the massive amounts of people that bought it just 3 months ago, but this phone could be a huge hit with its global capabilities and powerful 1.2GHz processor. Not to mention that the keyboard crushes the OG’s and the OGD2’s…weirdos.
Oh, the Droid X is also featured. Nice to see the big dog still holding his own after 5 months of life in the wild.
Just this morning we featured a new “DROID DOES FRANCE” advertisement for our global family members and only hours later, we have another. This time, the Droid 2 Global and Droid Pro (our review) take on Kenya in a way that your passport can’t. Funny right? I wonder what country we’ll see pop up next?
More Droid appearances here!
I’m not exactly sure where this ad came from, but you can see that the new print ad campaign for the Droid 2 Global and Droid Pro is in full swing. “DROID does France” is the latest in a string of global inspired ads hoping to help Android grab the spotlight on the business front from some of the other global smartphones currently on the market. It would have been nice to see these devices on the small screen, but you can guess that the budget for Droid phones ran out back with the Droid X and the huge campaign attached to it.
Make sure to keep up with the rest of our Droid Appearances!
Cheers Droid Life app tipster!
The Droid X continues to be included alongside the new OnStar app and thanks to all of you, we’re keeping track of it. We first saw it in a new OnStar commercial followed by a 2-page print ad, and now we’re seeing it at the L.A. Auto Show as a blown up version of itself. How can you not love seeing a 3-foot tall DX in action? If any of you are in the L.A. area, head over to the GM section of the auto show and see one for yourself.
I know this has nothing to do with the “DROID” brand and that HTC EVO talk is usually saved for our other site, but we received so many emails about the appearance of an Android phone in last night’s episode of Fringe that we had to at least acknowledge it. Going forward though, these non-Droid appearances will be up over at Android Life.
So early thoughts were that this was either an Incredible or a Droid X, but if you are able to capture a still of the device sitting on this nightstand, you can see a little Sprint logo in the top corner meaning this is definitely an EVO. Not a Droid Appearance, but man, you guys were on top of this one. Be sure to keep sending these in!
Here are the rest of our Droid appearances.

Cheers Ben, Lewis, Dave, Don and Jake!
We may have just had more Droid appearances in the latest episode of Gossip Girl than all others combined. While I’ve been tipped to original Droid sightings in this show quite often in the past, I have yet to see any TV show that busts out almost the entire lineup. Thanks to our fantastic lady audience, we were tipped off to a scheduled appearance checklist which included the original Droid, Incredible and Droid X. All of them pictured below. (more…)
