Adobe Reader Updated for Android, Contains New PDF Export Tools and Multi Window Support

Adobe Reader

Adobe launched an update for Adobe Reader this afternoon, one that brings quite the laundry list of changes and new features. For starters, there is a fancy new PDF export option through the Adobe ExportPDF service, as well as an improved Text Search while using Snippet views.

To top all of this greatness off, Samsung owners will be happy, as the app now features Multi Window support, perfect for owners of a Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3 – or any TouchWiz-sporting device with Multi Window built in for that matter. For a look at the full list of changes and feature additions, check out the changelog below.

What’s New:

  • Buy Adobe PDF Pack and Adobe ExportPDF services from within Adobe Reader

I’ll still keep using the Kindle app to read PDF’s. I don’t even let Adobe’s reader sit on my desktop machines. I don’t want any risk of any sort of my information falling into the security nightmare that is Adobe.

Adobe’s hubris is humorous. They create standards across many industries and even the web and use their power against themselves. Adobe Reader is one example. The program is bloated on both Android and Windows and loads so slow with so little extras. Foxit reader for Windows allows has so many features such as typewriter on PDFs and the ability to attach other files to a PDF. PDFill is another great freeware that allows for merging, splitting, and other awesome features. With Adobe you have to shell out the big bucks to get what others offer for free. The only thing I agree with Steve Jobs on is the security hole that is Adobe. Hubris born of success.

    It’s a slow evening news wise…

  • Oh, can not imagine, everything seems increasingly possible that it will not develop to any extent.
