HTC Vigor Receives Bluetooth Certification, Please Show Up on October 6

With the Galaxy S II out of Verizon’s lineup, we have one less device to worry about and are left with the DROID Bionic, Nexus Prime (still a rumor), DROID HD and the HTC Vigor (model ADR6425).  Both the Prime and Vigor have been rumored to have gargantuan specs that include HD screens, 1.5GHz dual-core processors and more – something many of you are willing to wait for. If the Vigor is indeed your next mate, then you should grin at it receiving its Bluetooth 3.0 certification; a step that all devices must do now a days.  By no means does this signal an imminent launch, but it is officially checked off the list.

A rumored release date still stands at October 6.

More info.

Cheers DesertEagle_50!

    that says october 5

  • Motorola

This phone will be a beast if it has a good battery life, and a nice built quality. I feel the bionic will win because it has more features such as hdmi mirror, webdock and of course it is a Moto device :)

  • Anonymous

I really hope there is something good coming out for VZ between the Bionic and the Vigor. I feel like we’ve all been waiting forever already. October feels like ages from now

  • J Dub

I’m sorry, but whenever I hear Vigor I think Viagra and that is NOT boner indeucing. Sorry HTC, name fail.

So far there has been no evidence that this device will be LTE. Will you all be singing the same tune if its not? The whole SGS2 thing is another reminder not to bet the house on rumor. Base your purchasing decisions on fact.

    • Tony Allen

Fact says that Verizon isn’t getting a Galaxy S II, the phone ID ADR6425 puts it as a successor to the HTC Thunderbolt.

  • Anonymous

I dont think theres a single comment actually relating to the actual matter at hand in this post, and that is Bluetooth 3.0 Certification. Just checked out the supposed Bionic specs and it only has boring old Bluetooth 2.1. This might actually make me wait it out, unless the battery life on this is gonna be as bad as some of you guys say, with it having an overclocked a8 cpu and all.

    • Mr. Bluetooth

Holding out for bluetooth 3.0… Lmao

  • Guttatae22

I just cant wait until this phone drops

  • Anonymous

If the Vigor uses the Krait Snapdragon chip then that is the phone to beat or else the HD screen and dual core will rapidly suck the battery dry.  The other phone to watch for is the Revolution 2 from LG.  My guess the Nexus Prime will be the flagship and all running on stock ICS

    • Anonymous

It won’t unfortunately, nothing about the release of Qualcomm’s 28nm chips has really been released yet other than a vague window of Q4 2011.

  • Anonymous

An old A8 overclocked? No thanks, that thing will eat through a battery in no time at all and most of the other SoCs have moved on to cortex A9 architecture.

Droid 3 is already rooted, and Moto phones are getting unlocked in November so the Bionic is ready to go. Once the A9 OMAP 4 is over clocked it will beat the pants off this phone (even at normal clock speed it has a much better GPU) and the 4460 in the Prime will completely blow it out of the water.

“and Moto phones are getting unlocked in November so the Bionic is ready to go.”
      Keep on dreaming.

      • Tony Allen

        Indeed Sir!

    • Guest

We are seeing moto releasing the gb updates super fast to all their phones. People are rooting and unlocking all the moto devices as well. For instance, droid x, droid 3 droidx2 and the best of the best the ruler of all machines (BIONIC ) YES, I am a moto guy.

And knowing HTC, the battery will last approximately 137 minutes before needing to be recharged.

    • Anonymous

With the clockspeed this high that might be pretty close to the truth.

Battery life, Battery life!!!  Maybe one of the OEM’s will feature a tiny solar chip to keep a charge on a device.  That would be awesome!!!!

    • Mrbrooks418

screw it lets go nuclear…… lol

        Lol

    • Cmrstang

Researchers at UCLA have found a way for LCD screens to charge using solar power, indoor
light and the devices’ own backlight. Here is a link to the article.

@cmrstang grweat article, with the demands ever increasing for longer battery from our devices and going green incentives across our daily carbon footprint and energy using the sun is perfect. This would give an OEM a HUGHE advantage of the rest of there OEM’s till they catch up.

If Moto can make the Bionic have good batery life so can HTC and other OEM’s This device is going to be a beast!!!!

    • waiting

moto makes their own chips so that helps a lot

  • droid4life

Sense is probably the best skin, hopefully they went to work immediately after they launched the thunderbolt to get the battery life extended. . .but we’ll have to see what this beast is like once it gets more “leaks”

    • Anonymous

Bah, screw sense! This thing better stick to HTC’s promises of unlocked bootloaders, so I can load ICS on this thing as soon as it’s ready!

      • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

Yea sense is way to heavy and bloated…the worst part is that they keep adding to it…they need to downsize it

        • Blood

That’s the beauty of an unlocked boot loader. You can load up your own custom rom on it.

    • Anonymous

I agree we will how HTC’s battery life will be. I am loking forward to seeing how the Vigor stacks up agianst the Bionic :P

    • Anonymous

Ugh, I loath sense and it’s ugly icons and the way it completely takes over a phone. I hated Blur too, but the new 3D blur on the D3 is awesome and rather unobtrusive.

My order of current “interest” (with what we know thus far):

    1. Nexus
    2. Vigor
    3. Droid HD
    4. Bionic

    • Anonymous

Amen. The SGSII used to be in between the Droid HD and Bionic, but as it stands that is my list as well. However, if the Vigor does launch in early October and there’s still no more news of the Nexus Prime, I may just jump on the Vigor and install ICS when it comes out. Vigor will likely be unlocked, anyway, right?

      • Pleasetellme

why to my eyes gs2 before is was taken out of verizon list was at least #2. All the other phones gpu is outdated or weak compared to gs2 gpu.

        • Anonymous

After a solid three hours of conferring with paleontologists who are expert in the Neanderthal language, I believe what you’re asking is “why isn’t the GSII at least at #2, its CPU is better than any of these processors”.

Answer: wrong. First of all, the GSII isn’t coming to VZW, so it’s dead to me. Second, the processor is a 1.2GHz dual-core A9 processor (branded the Exynos). That chip is essentially the same in terms of power as the OMAP 4 and next-gen Snapdragons which are used on the other phones on that list. The chip is merely clocked a bit higher than the Bionic, however it’s actually clocked either lower or the same as the other phones (notably the Vigor and Nexus Prime). In fact, the Prime has the same exact chip, as it’s essentially a beefed-up SGSII with an HD screen and ICS.

ί got an iPad 2-(32GB)  for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/b0FH</em

Hope you like crappy battery life. The 1.5ghz dual core and HD screen is only going to make it worse. Not going with HTC again.

    • Anonymous

The screen may be HD, but it’s still Super AMOLED. Will be WAY better on battery than LCD on the thunderbolt. The chip seems to be Qualcomm’s next-gen snapdragon, which is touted as being far more power-saving than the Tegra 2. Plus, I’m willing to bet with all those improved specs they stick a larger battery to this puppy.

      • Anonymous

Since when is it super amoled? Thought only samsung had those.

        • Appleanche

They used an OLED from Samsung in the original Incredible, Samsung sells their parts. I haven’t seen anything rumored about it being Super AMOLED but since the Prime is rumored to have a 720p Super AMOLED it would make sense they’d come from the same source.

          • Anonymous

As I said. But they have used AMOLED before too, such as in the N1 and the Desire.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=595730011 Nick Adamany

They switched away from AMOLED for a good reason, Samsung couldn’t manufacture enough of them, and with SGSII selling so well… You guessed it, they still don’t have enough.

          • Anonymous

no way can Samsung make enough displays to share a new HD model with the vigor.  I’d bet it is an LG IPS LCD, like what they source to Apple, only a bit bigger.

        • Anonymous

Could be wrong, but I thought the only HD screens (as in, both the Vigor and the Prime) would be Super AMOLED HD. Or at least AMOLED. I know that htc has used AMOLED before, so maybe they have those or Super AMOLED’s for the Vigor? A quick Google search tells me that no rumors have stated Super AMOLED, so I retract previous statements. However, I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s at least AMOLED, which I know is not exclusive to samsung phones. Hell, the N1 was AMOLED! Though lately they have been favoring SLCD for some reason…

          • Anonymous

Not really since no htc phones have super amoled. Also samsung is the only one with those and nexus prime would make sense but not on the vigor. Most likely will have lcd.

        • Tony Allen

No, of course Samsung isn’t the only one with them, they’re the only ones that have had them recently though. The first batch of Droid Incredibles had AMOLED. The Nexus One also had an AMOLED. Supply was too small for the Incredible, so they switched to Sony SLCD screens.

      • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

And their using the A8 not the new chip…and I may be wrong but if I am please link all of those facts please I would like to see

        • Anonymous

You are correct, so far no phone has been announced that uses the MSM8960 and the Adreno 225 GPU (the one from that awesome tech demo awhile ago). This is more than likely Verizon’s version of the Sensation which is the older A8 processor.

        • Guest

they are using the same chip as htc sensation, which it is not impressive at all. My friend has the sensation and it is slow, it could be the tmobile service but still, it can be faster.

      • Guest

nothing its better than pentile, when it comes to save battery

Then why comment on a post about the vigor? You fanboys are getting as bad as the apple fanboys

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Forte/542650247 Michael Forte

Because everyone likes to pollute Bionic posts so why can’t I state my opinion?

        • Anonymous

No I don’t have loyalty to any brand. People flame eachother over a phone is lame and guess you wouldn’t know guest. Smh

    • Anonymous

You think that would be the case, but other OEM’s will have the devices running more efficently

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=595730011 Nick Adamany

Have you *seen* HTC phones battery lives?  Their track record is rather lolworthy.

        • Anonymous

Your right they are but like Moto tchnolgy will get better on that side of the house :)

    • Anonymous

I have been so happy with my Thunderbolt that I would get the Vigor no problem.

    • http://twitter.com/twatter411 Phil

the chip is also more advanced and has much better power control and is asynchronous

    • Caprich96

say that out loud they seem to put cheap batteries on their device
