Pool Party Released by Google’s Slide Team, Another Private Beta You Can’t Join

Google apparently has this secret Slide team somewhere deep within its realms that pumps out sharp looking apps like the one you are seeing above.  Yep, it’s called Pool Party and it looks like some sort of direct Color knockoff, but we can’t tell because it’s another closed beta.  The reason we’ve come to that conclusion though, is simply from the description which claims that you can share photos in “real time” with your group of friends.

Interesting, right?  Anyone want to invite me?

Why not just integrate it with Plus?

can someone pleaseeeee send me an invite to this ;)

The Slide team is just the people who used to work for Slide before Google bought them… not really anything fancy, they are just keeping their old company name. And you can go to the Slide website and request an invite (I don’t know how fast they get back to you).

What is the website?  I went to slide.com and signed up, but do not see anywhere to request an invite…?

This “sharing” euphoria has not settled down yet I see. .Let’s just all implant cameras into our retina and microphones into our mouths and transmit the feed online 24/7…. and be done with all this vomit of crazy “sharing” apps and programs already!

My husband and i ended up being really satisfied Peter managed to finish off his researching through your ideas he gained from your own site. It’s not at all simplistic just to choose to be freely giving hints which many people may have been selling. We really figure out we’ve got the website owner to appreciate because of that. Those explanations you have made, the simple blog menu, the friendships you can help create – it is everything awesome, and it is aiding our son in addition to our family do think this topic is awesome, which is certainly highly fundamental. Many thanks for everything!

Google plus already does this, sort of.  Sounds like it would be best to merge the two.

I love how people bitch about google projects in beta. A beta google product is far more polished than most full services from certain companies. And they are always updating and further developing their current and future services. That’s a GOOD thing people. It’s the same reason MMO’s have different testing groups that grow bigger with time AND when they do finally roll it out to everyone, their servers don’t crash because EVERYONE is trying to join at one time. Maybe if people weren’t so condescending about “beta” they would get invites to be part of the in-crew lol

plus keeping it in beta allows them to make the service free :) google doesn’t want to charge for any services they offer.. so just call it BETA! :)

  • Marcio

Can someone invite me if they can??

  • Hydroradio

That IS a very nice looking app. It probably won’t work on the Thunderbolt when its released tho… C’est la vie….

Too many betas in Google’s product titles and too many invite-only features. Don’t announce/release them to the public unless they’re available for everyone.

    • tjhrulz

Google did not announce this one it just leaked, when you are the second most visited page in the world it is hard to keep a secret.

you obviously don’t know how software releases work.

perhaps an industy like fast food is better suited to you brain size.

      • Anonymous

Actually, a lot of other companies release software much different from Google and I happen to prefer their methods better.

Perhaps being close-minded gives you the assumed authority of belittling other peoples intelligence, when in fact you are having issues processing your own.

Google is rolling out all kinds of goodies. I especially like the new UI on Calendar and Gmail. Very minimalistic and smooth.

    +1 :0)

    • tjhrulz

I think they made a new layout for youtube that is hidden that matches these new looks

      • Baked14

You are correct. The new youtube looks awesome

        • http://www.facebook.com/TJHRULZ tjhrulz

Yeah it was hidden back when I said this now it is the default

Google has started throwing around the term “beta” wayyy too much.  It has no meaning in any of their products anymore.

    • Anonymous

Started? Gmail was in beta for like 4 years. They’ve always done that with all of their products.

      • tjhrulz

He is correct, all companies have betas, Google just doesn’t hide them; unlike most companies Google doesn’t use the beta tag to get out of trouble, but just to limit the users (Which as the last few days events show must be done).

I believe Google said they keep a product in ‘beta’ until it has reached its peak of what they expect from it. Gmail stayed in beta for many years as do almost all of their products. It’s exactly what beta is too.

Is it bad that they make a lot of product offerings?

I’d rather just spend my time with services I am able to use

    • digsoreos

I’m spending my time with a phone I can’t use (DX on GingerBlur). ;)

      • Dave

        I was too. Now I’m happily running CM7 ;)

        • tjhrulz

And I am spending that CM7 time with my D2 ;)

          • Deadrules68

Are there any issues with CM7 on D2? Just wondering if there are any that would give me less functionality than I have now…and how is the speed?

          • tjhrulz

On the latest nightly there was a notifications light bug where custom settings would not hold, but that was fixed today. Other then that nothing, it really is as good as CM7 from my OG droid days! Speed is far beyond anything for D2, and as for functionality its CM7, everything could be broken and it would have more  than most ROMs. So get CM7 for D2 2day :)

          • Deadrules68

oo awesome sounds good, I just gotta get home and find whre to get it lol, thank you very much!

          • tjhrulz

Let me help you out with that ;)
