Staples Tablet Lineup: Samsung 8.9-inch, Toshiba 10-inch, HTC 10-inch Devices All on the Way

According to Staples’ training guides, they sure appear to be taking this tablet game pretty seriously.  We already know that they plan to release the wifi-only Motorola XOOM some time around the end of March or early April for $599, but they aren’t stopping there.  They are expecting to see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9″ device that should be announced in the coming weeks at CTIA, Acer and Toshiba 10″ devices, and even a 10″ HTC slate.  Now, we saw the HTC Flyer at MWC a few weeks back, but that was only a 7″ model.  Could a 10″ be the rumored EVO tablet that Sprint is expected to announce in the near future?

Cheers ___!

I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles. You might want to remind customers of specific events or promotions, but for whatever reasons, SMS allows you to pass information directly to the right customer at very affordable prices and fast delivery.

You failed to comment on the 7 inch HP. We’ve seen the 10 inch TouchPad but not a 7 incher from HP/Palm yet. Interesting.

  • Enoel69

Hope the 10 inch HTC tablet is a Dual core…hope they also come out with a 7 and 8.9 inch Dual core. Do i hear the sound of HTC Doubleshot Tablet….

  • Chris Nimon

Finally considering a tablet. Can anybody recommend a wifi only 7 inch tab with GPS? I personally don’t have a use for any of the 10 inchers. (yeah, i know. that just doesn’t sound right lol)

according to this article the tablet supply will be 35% higher than demand. this means low prices for those who have patients to ride out the early adopter phase. (just one article; not the final word of course)

Yay, HTC! Love their build quality and design~

Yes I agree I am really liking what motorola did with the xoom, but if HTC releases a dual core 10 inch honeycomb running beast I’m in. Sorry motorola you almost won me back, but I just love HTC. I am happy that you decided to keep the bootloader unlockable though and i am still hoping you become the nexus one of tablets. My fingers are crossed, but again a 10″ HTC tablet with that new scribe technology sounds too damn good to pass up.

if it’s stock honeycomb(which i suppose it is) i’m not between the HTC 10 incher, and the Samsung Galaxy 10.1. this is sick

I was just getting ready to purchase the wi-fi only Xoom the moment it came out, but seeing the HTC Slate on the table… I might just need to wait to see what it’s got in it.

    • angermeans

Just do like I did and get the Xoom now and wait and see what HTC has to offer. It more than likely wo t be here until june or july and i doubt the Xoom will lose its value that quick, but you never know this is android we are speaking about. Here’s to a summer of running over iOS much like last summer with phones. Sorry apple you should have given a little more because it won’t be long and their will be tablets much better spec’d than you ipad 1.5. Your bound to repeat history with your mediocre updates once a year especially now that android already has peoples attention this time around, and it is running a much more tablet friendly OS than just a blown up iPod touch.

      • Finire

Yeah, I’ll just have to take the chance. I want to stick with the Wi-fi only version though… For several reasons… Price point is the primary. If I got it through verizon I refuse to sign a 2 year data contract when 98% of the time I’ll be using only wi-fi, and when I’m not, I’ll just tether. My only curiosity is that if the wi-fi only version will be able to be upgraded to LTE if I can manage to find a motorola LTE card. Just seeing as knowing motorola the insides will be the same, just missing the 3G card at the start… With luck they won’t have disabled the circuitry to put the LTE card in, and then I can just get a month to month if I really choose that I want to go that way. The main reason I’ll go with the Xoom to start with, is I just don’t think I can wait until June or July to get my hands on a decent tablet.

If the 10″ is actually the sprint evo, I will need more jizz rags. I want this so bad.

    • angermeans

Your right i never thought about that but sprint is rumored to release an “evo tablet” aren’t they. This sounds like what this might be.

Is there a comparison of all the tablets somewhere? I’m really interested in the Toshiba tablet since it accepts normal sized (cheaper) SD cards!!

    • http://www.youtube.com/billtvshow Billtvshow

The Toshiba tablet looks full blown badass, hope there’s no catch in the end.

      • http://twitter.com/tresnadesigns Robert Evans

I just want a wifi only version and not like the Xoom – stuck with a 2 yr waste of money contract. Tho the wifi only is coming out. Don’t need LTE on a tablet if your rooting your android phone… :-)

  • http://twitter.com/lennyd43 Why So Serious?

So Motorola Xoom wi-fi vs HTC vs Acer vs Toshiba….

What shall it be? I hope they have specs available for the latter 3 so I can decide before getting Xoom at the end of this month.

If spec is almost exact same, which one do you think have better value and customer service?

I knew HTC wasn’t gonna miss out on the 10-inch goodness. Glad I waited

  • Anonymous

Oh my so much tablet goodness incoming.

May have to hold up a slight bit and see more of what this supposed 10″ HTC table will be. Although, I am still curious about cost of the Toshiba’s tablet even though in the end I will probably still end up with the wifi-Xoom.

  • http://twitter.com/john_ecko js

Held a xoom for the first time over the weekend. Man, that thing feels hefty…

    • Anonymous

      Sure does..

    • Anonymous

I agree.. But I am still convinced that the 10″ is the way to go.. the 7″ are just gonna feel like a big phone. I will have to wait to see what everyone else brings to the tablet table before I drop my $599 for the wifi Xoom. I Will have one of these devices before May for sure.

      • http://twitter.com/john_ecko js

Yeah, I’m with ya on that.

  • Anonymous

Give me a 7″ with Honeycomb or give me death! OK, not death, but maybe some remorse.

  • Anonymous

I didn’t think the HTC was going to be running Honeycomb.

    • Anonymous

Naw that was the 7-inch Flyer.. this could be the Evo tablet (i think its gonna be called the Evo View or something)

      • Anonymous

Looking forward to seeing the specs on it. Some other sites are saying a summer release.

  • Anonymous

now we are rocking. The 7-8″ tablets should do quite well compared to the non-competitive 10″ devices. I am looking for the Sammy for sure.

  • http://twitter.com/sychael :

“Dell 10 Honeycomb Tablet” What is that going to be like…?

    • Anonymous

It’ll function OK as soon as you open the box, then with each subsequent week it will get gradually slower and slower. When the warranty expires the screen will flash on and off every 3 seconds or go into an unrecoverable bootloop.

    YES!
