If you have spare phones lying around and would rather remove them from your possession in favor of cash, you should know that Verizon’s Trade-In program has made that process a whole lot quicker. After trading in your phones in the past, customers were asked to wait for their reward to arrive in via snail mail. As of today, the program has changed, giving you the opportunity to receive your spending money immediately via electronic gift card. This obviously happens after VZW receives your shipped device and then processes it, but hey, it’s still faster.
On a related note, I took a few minutes to see what Verizon is valuing devices at these days and chuckled at a few. The 64GB DROID XYBOARD will only net you $165. Yikes. Oh, and the regular DROID RAZR will get you $200, while the RAZR MAXX only came in at $180.
Via: Verizon Trade-In

not sure if anybody realized this, but you can trade the phones in at a Verizon store and get the money that day…. a corporate store that is
LOL… Every phone you trade in to Verizon is one less phone someone can buy and use without a contract and one less reason for Verizon to lower the prices on their new phones. Sell your used phones on the secondary market, you’ll get more $$$ and you’ll help force VZW to lower the prices of their new phones – or at least give more incentive to buy new from them.
Just appraised my OG Droid. $7.00? No thanks
7$ for my OG. No thanks i’ll keep it!
Droid 2 working display, no cracks, powers up, $20.00
Droid RAZR MAXX working display, no cracks, powers up. $180.00
Motorola DEVOUR, not working display, blown up by firecrackers, does not power up.. .04 cents.
Total assessed value..$200.04
$7 for Droid 1 😀
All corporate trade-in programs are crap. You can get so much more on craigslist or ebay. (except for maybe the Thunderbolt lol).
Still with the thunderbolt, just bought one on Swappa for $125. Lowest other one is 185, and on eBay, the lowest is 130-150.
wonder how much for my nexus
232 for Droid 4, im almost tempted i only payed $49 for it, and i dont use the keyboard as much as i thought i would have, i can get a htc rezound or razr
List it on Swappa for 300.
Back in December when I got my Nexus I did the trade-ins at the store and got an instant credit that was applied toward the purchase of my new phone. Got $45 for my Droid X and $36 for my Storm 2.
$7 for my Droid….what a joke! Seriously $7? Maybe if I melt it down I could get more?
You could try…..then after sitting in the fire for a few minutes, the OG would get up, piss on the fire & proceed to smack you with its keyboard for actually trying to destroy it 😉
-All kidding aside……totally agree, $7 is a fckin joke. Give SWAPPA.c0m a try, dope site & its safe. Not saying your gonna get a hell of alot more, but its worth a shot.
With a value of under $100, eBay is probably better.
My OG Droid with broken glass will get me a whopping $2.45!
They always show flip phones in the ads, but I called one time and they offered me nothing for a few newer feature phones. I expected to get around $7.00 or something along those lines, but seeing how they only offer $7.00 for the OG Droid I guess I was dreaming. Whatever, not like I’d ever call them again. And I think it’s funny the RAZR goes for more than the MAXX. More battery means it’s worth less?
OG Droid. 7.00 Yippe
I’ll give you triple that!
Haha as if we needed any more “proof” Verizon hates the Droid Bionic and we are the red headed step child of their “flag-ship” line up.
-It uses the old Bionic picture
-$85
Can’t wait till my company moves to the iPhone 5.
How do you think Thunderbolt owners feel?
And the “image” of the HTC Thunderbolt is tagged Droid Life. Nice work Verizon!
Wonder what POS web development company this was outsourced to?
I think I remember seeing something like this no ling after the thunderbolt came out. All I can say is go Droid-Life.
On Friday, I got $34 for my Droid X (the first one). It was the same price as Gazelle was offering if I had all the cables. Verizon just wanted the phone. I used the money on an extended battery (which was on sale for $25). I probably could have made more on eBay but it was convenient. I traded up for the Galaxy Nexus.
i just sold my DX 2 weeks ago for like $75
you should got like 100$ easily on ebay
hmm iphone 4s 16gb on verizon gets you $272 lol. Im confused.
I’d rather lock into a 2 year extension with a GN off of wirefly and sell it for 500 on Swappa. Pretty nice profit.
smh…
Craigslist beats this all day long. Your an a-hole if you pay to ship and use one of these stupid services to get a fraction of what selling on your own can get you.
Swappa.com forget craigslist.
Second vote for Swappa. Been preaching it for a while now. Its safer & geared towards the Android community. IMHO, those cats dont get the recognition they deserve for that site. Sites like this & AC/AP/A&Me/etc should be promoting it like crazy, the serial flashers & device addicts would love it.
First week on Swappa, sold a G2X and bought a Thunderbolt, going on Verizon with no contract restrictions. For the price I paid for the thunderbolt, I can sell it for a profit when I have the cash to upgrade. 🙂
Craigslist’s usefulness depends entirely on where you live, though. A small enough town, especially in a relatively rural area, isn’t going to be a good place to sell electronics on craigslist.
Droid Incredible, y u no worth anything? ($31)
damn og = $7
I’ll give you 10 😉
70 for a Thunderbolt and 80 for an Evo 3D. Pretty funny, can get much more on Swappa…
7 bucks? It would take at least that much to ship the damn thing. Are they high? I really want to know what kind of drugs and how much.
they should appraise from retail value and not on contract value. Thunderbolt sells for 70, lol.
My OG Droid is worth a whopping………$7!
$0 for my Pre2 and $7 for my OG Droid….no spank you
$180 for my Nexus – pretty good if i didn’t like it
LOOOOOL they obviously are trying very hard to prevent people with new devices from using this.
