Depending on which report you read, you might come away thinking the network you subscribe to is the best of them all. We see Verizon win some, AT&T win others, and T-Mobile carry at times too. In the latest from Ookla, T-Mobile is king and has been crowned “Best Mobile Network.”
In this new report from Ookla dubbed “Speedtest Connectivity Report,” which presents data collected from January – June 2026, not only did T-Mobile win for Best Mobile Network, they also came away with the Best 5G Network, were the fastest, had best 5G availability, and provided the most consistent network. In fact, they won every single category tested by Ookla except for “Best Mobile Coverage,” which Verizon won.
What does this mean to you? If you are on T-Mobile, great, you are on the best mobile network, according to this one report. If you are on Verizon or AT&T, maybe you’ll now think about switching if you have had connectivity issues where you live. But that’s the thing here – it all depends on your own experience where you spend the majority of your time.
For example, I live in Portland, OR and Verizon coverage is pretty horrible where I live. When I suggested this in another write-up years ago, Verizon PR couldn’t believe what they were reading and assured me (personally) that they were improving in my area. Those improvements never came and if anything, their coverage has gotten worse. So I’ve spent most of my time on T-Mobile in recent years, but gave Visible (which Verizon owns) a thorough test in recent months. After once again dealing with spotty connections far too regularly, I’ve left again, this time for a combination of AT&T and T-Mobile.
