Google’s Pixel Fold is a fancy phone, so of course, it’s expensive. If you have been looking to try out Google’s foldable phone, but don’t have nearly $2K to spend, then have you thought about going with a refurbished unit?
Currently, Amazon has renewed Pixel Fold 256GB units for only $908. Compared to a Pixel Fold’s new starting price of $1,799, that’s a great deal. If you need the 512GB option, it’s just a bit more at $1,099.
Before you poo-poo it for being refurbished, know that Amazon lists that the devices are in excellent condition and are eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied. That sort of satisfaction promise should be enough to make most people feel confident enough to give it a try.

I’ve had the the pixel fold, Samsung fold 5, Mix Fold 3 and I’m currently using the One Plus Open. All good phones. The PF is a bit heavy though. If they can get that weight down, I might stick with it next time. I’m going to stick with the OPO for the time being.
You literally hate money
I have a Fold 5 and have been tempted by some of the new folding options.
Oneplus open. It is the best folding phone I’ve ever had. I’ve had the fold 3, 4 and 5.
That is one I’ve been seriously considering. I’m very interested in what they do this year
pixel phones got the worst value retention EVER. after experiencing the 7 pro dropping nearly 2/3 its price within the release year. never again.
And they don’t have good trade in value either. Even for Google. I didn’t go to the 8 this year because of how poor the trade in value was.
$900 for refurb! Yikes!
As opposed to what? Please enlighten me with what you think a fair price would be for a refurbished phone that is less than a year old and sold for almost $2K new.
I don’t buy $2,000 phones and I certainly don’t buy refurbished phones. The most I ever paid for a phone is $350 and that was a brand new pixel 7a.
These folding phones are for morons and people with more money than brains. The phone is solution in search of a problem. Nobody needs a folding phone.
The original purpose of a flip phone was to keep the keypad covered so you don’t butt dial anyone. That was it.
Waiting for Pixel Fold 2. After coming back to the Pixel 8 Pro from using other devices I think I’ll just stay Pixel. But I can’t buy Gen 1 Folding Hardware
Missed out, it’s fantastic
Best phone ever made
Not perfect, best.
The PF hate is strong here, damn.
DL readers that big of Sammy fans or what?
No, just not fans of the folds. All hot garbage in my eyes. I cannot unsee the creases and that is a deal breaker
I just don’t really have a use for one. I’d consider one in the future, but not for nearly double the price of a regular flagship. I just can’t justify a phone that expensive unless it does something my regular phone can’t (not just slightly more conveniently, like running two apps side-by-side).
