Own a Verizon Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+? It’s getting an update. It’s not an exciting update, but it’s an update.
Starting today, Verizon Galaxy S8 and S8+ units are receiving the July Android security patch and nothing more. Cool?
Build G950USQS5CRF5 will hit the S8 and G955USQS5CRF5 will hit the S8+. That is all.
To check, head into Settings>System update.
UPDATE: Verizon has now rolled back the changelogs for this update. And that sort of makes sense, since we’re seeing reports of the update breaking things like WiFi Calling. They may have pulled the update. We’ll let you know when it comes back.

Anyone’s update fail to install?
Not a big facebook user but it now immediately crashes upon login since the update.
That’s a feature
Mine did the same thing. Talked with Samsung and we tried all the clear cache, cache partition all the usual stuff, nothing worked. Had to do factory reset which is a pain in the ass but now everything is fine. No problems with wifi calling or facebook or anything else.
Settings> general management> reset> reset network settings. This did fixed it for me.
I got my update/patch today and WiFi calling is fine.
Lol i can’t with this!!
Broke my wifi calling for like 30 minutes… Then it worked again.
Did they bother to test it before release? Obviously not.
CANT ENABLE WI FI CALLING ANYMORE AFTER UPDATE
There is a new permission. Got the settings menu > connections > and advance calling. It should come up say yes then you should be able to allow wifi calling.
and chrome has been crashing ever since.
Great Story….Compelling and Rich.
Eh. Unfortunately I thought the ending was sappy and maudlin.
