  • Who was it on Droid Life that was talking about, possibly complaining, about the cost of Papa Murphy’s just the other day?

  • Do you really need to order ahead of time when they don’t even cook your pizza?

If only Costco had a mobile pizza order app that would be so good.

  • Cool. But “First app” for ordering pizzas? “First for them”, does this mean? Dominos and others have had this for years …

  • Love Papa Murphys, classic garlic Italian is my go to pizza. Born and raised in Milwaukee, have them there. Moved to Athens, Alabama 9.5 years ago, they were not here. They have been here for about 5 years now. When we do pizza, Papa Murphys is it for us.

  • Wow! No Papa Murphys in Chicago?! Really?! Lord Google says the nearest one to me is 20 miles away in Wheaton IL. Being a delivery driver that traveled to Wheaton at least twice a week, I can say it’s more than 20 miles away. If I were to leave my house right now, at 5:15pm Thursday night, it would take me about 45-60 mins one way to get there. No thank you!

      • Lol. Because I don’t discriminate bro…I love ALL pizza! We do have bomb ass pizza, but I’d still try PM if it were here!

          • Yea same here. If money is tight, or I have a lot of people over, I’ll hit up Little Ceasars. $5 for a one topping pizza, and they are already made, ready to go. For $20 plus tax I can get 4 pizzas and it’s literally like 12 mins round trip…can’t beat that!
But yea, being in Chicago, I’ve got at least 4 bomb ass pizza spots that are within 10 mins from my house, so mostly go with those.
If I had to choose ONE food to live on the rest of my life…it’d be PIZZA:)

  • He’s not my Papa but I miss him here in San Diego. =/ There is one 50 miles away… tempting… that’s how good their pies are.

  • I’m sorry but the best pizza doesn’t come from an app. It’s readily available on almost every corner, hand made with love by Mexican and Ecuadorian immigrants in New York City.

Unless you use an app like Orbtiz or Greyhound to get here. 😉

    • Pizzeria where you can watch them make your pizza with the dough and toppings, then you can take it and bake it at home. Fraction of the cost of a prepared pizza.

      • I don’t know about that. What kind of prepared pizzas are you buying?

I can get Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, and certainly Little Caesars, usually Dominos cheaper than Papa Murphy’s.

The advantage for me is the convenience. I usually buy one on a Sunday morning to cook at night. Its nice knowing my dinner on Sunday is done at 11am.

  • How is this the first? I can use Eat24 to order Pizza at many local pizza places. And Eat24 is not the only app based Delivery/Takeout companies.

    • I think Tim meant to say this is Papa Murphy’s first mobile app. If not, then I guess Tim has been living under a rock.

      • I honestly had no idea what people meant by this until I saw your comment. Yes, this PM’s first mobile app, not the first app for ordering pizzas in general. Guess it depends on how you read it.

  • big drawback in that it doesn’t do coupons, and neither of the 2 close to me are on the short list yet.

  • ah no wonder i’ve never heard of this papa murphy. not a single store in the entire northeast. papa murphy can go to hell

  • I don’t understand…….. you still have to do all the work, including putting it in the freaking oven. Someone fill me in when you got Mellow Mushroom, Dominos, Papa Johns, etc all in the same area.

    • We have Dominos and Papa Johns as well in our area. Papa Murphy’s has better pizza for a better price than either of them.

    • Way better than any of those. The closest thing would be Round Table and this is half the price…………as far as chains go of course. There’s obviously lots better around if you avoiding chains or the dirt cheap “flyer on the front door” places.

    • Yep been using ordering pizza the way I want it with their mobile app for over two years as far back that I can remember.

  • Thanks for the heads up, I love Papa Murphys! We have three here in Mendocino County in Northwestern California, Ukiah, Willits and Fort Bragg.

  • mmm, had me some 5-meat stuffed last night for dinner, only one I liked more was when they made a special bacon cheeseburger for a limited time and I had them do that stuffed.

  • Thanks Tim! I’m sure I probably would have gotten an email from PM on this, but I installed it right away because this is my go-to place for pizza and I’ve always hated having to call in because they can get quite busy.

  • Oh my, this is news? It’s not a *hot* icon pack? I remember now why I stopped visiting this site.

  • Maybe it’s because there’s no Papa Murphy’s around these parts, but why is this a big deal?

Just a heads-up to those that might like it? Sponsored content?

    • If it was sponsored or an ad, we’d let you know, but this is a friendly heads-up to anyone who loves Papa Murphy’s. I love Papa Murphy’s and it is a huge chain here on the West coast, so it’s big news for us 🙂

    • Papa Murphy’s makes some awesome pizza’s and they don’t feel/taste so unhealthy/greasy as some that you get in already baked pizzerias. They’re cheaper too.

    • It’s good pizza and you can make sure the crust is exactly the way you want–no worrying it’s going to be too soggy or too crunchy or cold when you get it home. And during the summer I cook them on the BBQ grill, and they are even better!

  • Cool that you were able to thoroughly impress the app! Did it give you a discount or some sort of digital high-five at least?!

    ;-P

      • I’m surprised they can afford computers because they have to pay their own healthcare first. Papa John like “Oh well”

  • Papa Murphy’s Chicken Bacon Artichoke… Mmmmmm

Edit: Chicago-Style Stuffed is also one of my goto’s

    • Rural counties like mine (Mendocino, rural Northwestern California) don’t even have Dominos, we do, however have three Papa Murphys (Ukiah, Willits, Fort Bragg) and one Roundtable (Ukiah).

    • I wouldn’t touch Papa Radical’s pizza, not after his anti Obamacare crap. As for Papa Murphys, you’re missing out, voted best pizza chain in the US for the past few years now.

      • Can’t be missing out if it isn’t in his area. I’ve never even heard of it until today.

      • Just because it’s the “best” pizza chain doesn’t mean that their pizza is good. I’ve never had good pizza from any pizza chain.

        • Yep, people vote for the best because they’re the worst ? You just haven’t found the right pizza places.

          • Nope…chain pizza = garbage pizza. Marcos is the only chain pizza that I’ve had that is tolerable.

      • When I go to papa john’s I go for pizza not political reasons. I don’t know what he said but obamacare is f**king up my insurance by nearly tripling my price…

        • Yes, my insurance doubled this year (and has in the past) and I have to now PAY FOR MY VISITS and I must CARRY INSURANCE. Fobama. And my health care directly cited Obama for this change, so they can profit at my expense.

Not the right audience, but what’s a honeybadger to do these days?
