It appears that Snapchat is the latest company to go the beta route, allowing Android users to enroll in a special program to test the latest and greatest features the development team has to offer. Signing up is easy enough – just join Snapchat’s Google+ community, then become a tester on Google Play. Once that’s completed, you can start downloading the beta apk from Google Play, then you are all set.
As for what is in the beta, there are two new features that some may get a kick out of. The first is an “enhanced canvas,” where depending on the sized tip you are using to draw on your pictures, the lines will either be bold or slim. Lastly, there is an enhanced keyboard, which will allow for Swype-style input. This is nice because I have found that the Snapchat keyboard is pretty terrible about spacing and autocorrects.

Google should really add a way to do this easily from the play store along with having beta change logs on top of stable change logs. They should also get rid of Chrome beta.
Why should they get rid of Chrome Beta?
There should be a Chrome beta the only problem I have is that they created a beta program for apps yet they aren’t using it with their own app.

Really not much to test out.. I have AOSP which already has swype keyboard to use within snapchat.. so I’m not sure how that’s even an add on?
I’m confused about this too. When I type anything in Snapchat it just brings up the standard keyboard. Is it supposed to be different?
I am now able to use my Swype keyboard (it just worked automatically for me when I enabled it in the settings for SnapChat).
Other than that… I think the only think I notice is the camera seems to work much nicer; like, it focuses much, much faster, and I think the front-facing camera also looks better???? Could just be placebo?
