The Amazon Echo Dot is seeing a $10 discount today at almost every retailer that sells it. That drops the already-reasonable $50 price down to just $40. That also drops the Echo Dot under Google’s new Home Mini in case you were trying to decide which to get.
At this point, both are incredibly powerful platforms. The Amazon Echo Dot is powered by Alexa and has thousands of skills, can control almost all smart home products, does reminders too, as well as make calls and more. If you are into smart home stuff, you really need a voice-activated assistant to make controlling it easy. The Echo Dot is the cheapest way to get in on that.
