There is no denying the beauty that emanates from the backside of the HTC U11. Sure, it might need a good wiping after 10 seconds of use without gloves, but it’s still very pretty, with its liquid metallic mirror finish. There are few phones that show this well when clean.
We happen to have the HTC U11 in Solar Red hanging out in the office for the next week or so and wanted to share some pictures of it. No, we don’t have another review or second opinion coming up (our review is right here), we just wanted to show off this truly unique colorway. You see, it’s certainly red, but as you twist the phone around and light reflects off of it, it actually turns from red to orange and yellow. It’s a pretty cool trick. It reminds me of how the “silver” version often looks light blue instead of a true silver.

The U11 is back on DL! Kind of odd they had it for “a good couple of weeks” yet didn’t have the time to give it a proper flagship review? But more to come in the near future ok!
great color but it seems to me, Apple is the only one that sells all the colors in all their official markets!

I seriously love that color. Very Blue on the Pixel was my previous favorite but that red is awesome.

But you truly need a case with this phone. It kindof blunts the effect of any spectacular color or finish. Unless if you use the clear plastic case which is included but really doesn’t offer that much protection.
Both the want and don’t want is strong with this phone. Give me that finish on a little bit smaller phone and i would be all in!

I am sure I’ll get roasted, but it just doesn’t look that appealing. The first image this draws to mind is the iPod touch 2G (not because of the color, but the look). In all of the pictures it appears to have a rounded backside, though I don’t think it actually does.
While I don’t feel one way or the other about the color, it looks like a prepaid phone to me.
I agree. I think it looks awful. I applaud them for the trying something different I guess, but I think it just looks bad.

I currently have the black S8 and the Graphite 6P before that.
The 6p was heralded for being one of the ugliest devices.. And any and all samsungs look like prepaid phones to me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Beautiful phone! I’m so sick of black, white, and gold colored phones. Those colors bore me to death anymore. Would really love to see the manufacturers start to offer both red and blue phones.
Red looks nice. I still think the Silver Version is the best color. Either way of all my favorite HTC devices this has the worst in hand feel #damperOnTheMoment
