The date is March 16, a significant piece of information to note, knowing that AT&T just announced that they will carry the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini on March 20. Again, today is not April 1. You also did not just read “Galaxy S6 Mini” or “Galaxy S6” or “you won’t believe this because it makes absolutely zero sense, but we are about to carry the mini version of last year’s flagship from Samsung.”

Yep, AT&T is ready to sell you the Galaxy S5 Mini come March 20. You can buy it for $99 with a 2-year contract (what?) or buy it on one of AT&T’s Next monthly device payment plans. You would probably be better off buying the new Moto X (2nd Gen) or Galaxy Alpha at that same price, but then again, choices are never a bad thing. OK, that’s not always true. In this situation, simply adding a choice to add a choice isn’t benefiting anyone – why on Earth would you want the Galaxy S5 Mini in 2015? This phone’s existence made sense in 2014; it doesn’t in 2015, especially with the Galaxy S6 a few weeks from launch.

As a recap, the Galaxy S5 Mini sports a 4.5-inch HD display, 8MP rear camera, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage (with micro SD slot for expansion), and still runs Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat.

Today is not April 1.
