Verizon Discontinued Mobile IM App on August 1 for All Smartphones

When the DROID RAZR was updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, Verizon notified customers via text that their Mobile IM app was no longer supported in Android 4.0 and that it would be removed. It doesn’t stop there, though. That means that any Verizon smartphone running ICS will not have a Mobile IM app, including the HTC Rezound and DROID 4. August 1 was actually the deadline for support to end, however, we haven’t heard yet if the app still works on devices not running ICS. We have a feeling that it doesn’t.

If your IM app is dead, and you used it, feel free to jump into the Play store and check out apps like IM+ as replacements.
