Plants vs Zombies

If you have the patience to stand when companies post ten second teaser videos for upcoming games, then this should put a big smile on your face. PopCap, the makers of the original Plants vs. Zombies game, began their teasing process for the upcoming mobile title, Plants vs. Zombies 2. From the entire twenty seconds we have seen so far, we know there will be pirate zombies, as well as some other characters that we aren’t as certain about.

Check below for the two trailers they have already released, plus they promise to release others in the short future. Hooray.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 “It’s About Time” Finally Launching in July

Plants vs. Zombies 2. Official. July 2013. Launch. That’s right, the follow-up to one of those most successful mobile games in recent memory (possibly of all time) is coming in two months. The official game title is “Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time,” which is a playful way of PopCap saying, “Yes, we know it’s taken us way too long to create this game, so we’re going to mock the situation.”

No other details have been given in terms of gameplay, but the last we had heard, it was supposed to arrive on Android this summer. This new comedic teaser trailer (if you can call it that), certainly matches up to that timeline.

I personally, cannot wait for this game. Probably one of my top three mobile games.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t take them forever to drop it on Android like the original.

PopCap to Launch Plants vs. Zombies Sequel in 2013

by: | posted 08.21.12 | Apps, Games, News

Plants vs. Zombies, one of the more entertaining mobile games of the last few years, will have a sequel some time in the first half of 2013, according to the game’s creators. This morning, PopCap announced that the “underground growth” of the new PvZ is expected to launch by “late spring 2013.” They plan to introduce a bevy of new features, settings, situations, “designed to delight the franchise’s tens of millions of fans.”

Personally, I can’t wait. Plants vs. Zombies was one of those games that Android enthusiasts had to wait what seemed like an extraordinary amount of time to get. Hopefully this time around, they launch on a variety of platforms.

Amazon Celebrating Their Appstore’s First Birthday, Offering Deals All Week On Premium Apps

by: | posted 03.15.12 | Apps, Games, News

Seeing as how Amazon’s Appstore has reached its first birthday, Amazon is in full on party mode. To celebrate, they have taken some of the biggest titles they have and are offering them at reduced prices all week. Today, they have Plants vs. Zombies at just 99 cents. Tomorrow, they will offer two app deals and the following day they will have three app deals, continuing on like that for the full week. From what we can tell, most of the apps they will offer have already been covered in their Free Apps of the Day, but fingers crossed we see something that hasn’t been offered yet. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing Lost City for free.

Go check out the deals and wish the Amazon Appstore a happy birthday!

PopCap’s Plants vs. Zombies Lands Officially On Android Market

by: | posted 12.14.11 | Apps, Games, News

Electronic Arts has published Plants vs. Zombies to the Android Market, finally.  Previously, if you wanted to have this classic game on your Android device, you would need to go through Amazon’s Appstore.  Not that there is anything wrong with that, but having apps through the official Market is sometimes easier to manage.

The application will run you $2.99, but who knows.  Maybe we could see it tomorrow as a 10 cent app?
