Yeah, I’d say I’m ready for some football. Just like we did last year and the year before, it’s time for the annual Droid Life NFL Eliminator Challenge. In last year’s contest, we upped the stakes by giving a way a phone of choice to the winner. Since that seemed to go over well, and our winner walked away with a brand new DROID RAZR MAXX, we’re sticking to that formula. For 2012, if you win this challenge, you get to choose a brand new phone from any carrier in the U.S. up to $650 in value. Ready?

Contest: Enter the Annual Droid Life Football Eliminator Challenge, Win a FREE Phone
As you can probably tell after almost 2 years, we are huge sports fans and love to give away prizes to readers every chance we get. So just as we did last year, we are launching another NFL Eliminator style challenge, but are upping the grand prize. What on Earth could you possibly win this year? How does a brand new phone of your choice sound? We would attempt to pick a specific device, but by the time the NFL regular season wraps up in January, we will likely have a new batch of phones that blow the current models out of the water. So when the time comes that we have a winner and all others are eliminated, we will let you choose what phone you want (sans iPhone of course) up to $600 in value.
Everyone ready to win a brand new phone? Here we go…
Verizon and NFL Team Up Again, Free NFL Mobile Premium Access to 4G LTE Customers
Verizon locked in another deal with the NFL this season to bring you exclusive content through their NFL Mobile app. This time around though, they are giving 4G LTE customers free premium access for the entire season, something 3G customers have to pay $10 a month for. Premium access includes live streaming of Sunday Night Football games, Monday Night Football games, and even NFL Network exclusive Thursday night games. NFL Redzone which gives you quick looks at any game with a scoring opportunity is a part of the Premium package as well.
And yes, that is a picture of the DROID Bionic. No, they have not announced it yet.
Madden 2012 Also Available on Android Today
Anyone headed to a store this morning to pick up Madden 2012? Or have some of you already gone 2-3 hours deep into your first franchise season? Or did some of you have to work today? (I say that because this is like a holiday for gamers) If for whatever reason you had to and are not able to plant yourself firmly on a couch, you may want to grab the Android version of the game that was also released and dive into a season from your desk. It will run you almost $8, but that could be well worth the time spent discovering who will be this year’s unstoppable force.
ESPN’s Fantasy Football 2011 App Lands on the Market for FREE
It’s that time of year again – the time to grab a case of Natty Ice, some nacho cheese dip with Fritos, and cruise over to Big Willie’s garage to get down with your fantasy football draft. Or if you live in 2011, you could just register online, invite all of your friends via email and sit in your recliner with your own case of cheap beer and cheese dip and get down without having to move an inch.
Once you finish, you’ll want to swing by the Android Market to pick up this year’s ESPN Fantasy Football app that for whatever reason, is now free. That’s right, after sneaking in at the semi-ridiculous price of $4.99 or so last year, you can now track all of your league domination for nothing.
And I would say that this also means that I should start setting up our pick’em contest for this year. Stay tuned for those details.

Cheers to everyone who sent this!
Friday Poll: Super Bowl XLV, Who You Got?
This has nothing to do with Android and I don’t care. It’s Super Bowl time, people. While many of us will be keeping our eyes glued to our HD screens during breaks so that we don’t miss the new Motorola XOOM and Angry Birds ads, we also can’t forget about the game itself. One of our readers who won a trip to Super Bowl XLV is already there waving his Terrible Towel with his son, but what about the rest of you?
Cheese or steel? Rogers or Big Ben?
HuddleHub Fantasy Football App Launches

I know, I know, this has been the day of fantasy football talk, but I promise you that this is it. We already launched a new contest, and now HuddleHub drops the first release of their free app which pulls in both Yahoo and ESPN leagues. Is there even anything else we need?
Now remember that they plan on rolling out more features to this app as Thursday’s kickoff approaches so just be patient with it. It is free people. Oh, and I recommend importing your teams at the HuddleHub.com site first, and then logging into the app. Just might ease the transition of your teams over.

Contest: Droid Life Football Survivor Game!
Get ready for some Droid Life football action! I know it seems like we’ve been talking a lot of fantasy football lately, but we can’t help it with the season starting in just 2 days. And to celebrate the return of America’s most popular game, we’re launching another contest! Who wants $100 cash in their Paypal pocket? Well that’s exactly what we’re giving away to the winner of our Survivor Game. Not familiar with Survivor games? Let’s break this down for you…
Here are some basics:
The object of Yahoo! Sports Survival Football is to be the last Active member of your individual group.
In order to accomplish this goal, you must correctly pick the winner of one professional football game each week. In groups that use more than 1 Strike (i.e., incorrect pick), you may be allowed to miss up to 2 times and still be the group winner.
To make this simple sounding game more of a challenge, you can only select each professional football team once during the regular season while an Active member of an individual group. Team restrictions will be reset at the beginning the playoffs (in groups that pick through the playoffs), and you will again be able to pick each team once.
If a correct selection is made, you will remain Active for the following week. If an incorrect selection is made (or the game ends in a tie), you will be incur a Strike and could be Eliminated, depending on the group’s settings.
