Verizon Also Pushed Out Updates to the DROID Mini, RAZR M, Spectrum, Intuition, and Ellipsis 7 – Here are the Changelogs

Verizon logo 2

Verizon has been on a tear so far this month updating many devices, although some of which may not be completely headline grabbing. We still feel its important for the info to get out there for folks to see, just incase you are rocking one of these devices.

For example, Big Red approved and pushed out an update to the original LG Spectrum, which is pretty remarkable considering the device received Ice Cream Sandwich around this time last year. So, if you are sporting either a DROID Mini, LG Spectrum, LG Intuition or Ellipsis 7, have a look below for info regarding your updates.

Note: The RAZR M also received an update, but Verizon has yet to post a changelog. We shall update this post as soon as it becomes available to the public.

I got the free ellipsis from version on the black Friday sale. I am glad it was free. There are many disappointing things about it besides the lack of memory and cumbersome feel. A. you can’t set individual alert tones to contacts B. The camera is awful C. The Bluetooth is very slow. Wow I just can’t stop ragging on this thing. Glad it was free!

Droid mini software designed by Motorolla will be proved a very useful software for wireless smartphone. I am please to share my comments on Droid mini with all of smartphone users. http://www.hotappsntech.com

Nobody noticed the camera update to the DROID Mini…..

  • Pat Leck

I would really like to try one of these out, just to really see if I would like it.

  • Shadowstare

    Still no DNA? *GoesBackToSleep*

  • Detonation

I’m still yet to see a single Lg Inituition outside of a Verizon store. I feel sorry for the handful of people that bought that abomination.

  • Brian Roth
  • Andy Stetson

Holy crap at all the bloat their bragging about now on the Intuition. Specifically under preloaded games… Gameloft. Which gameloft rip-off game, all of them?

  • Sporttster

Did they ever release a changelog for the N3 officially????

  • Just_Some_Nobody

Ellipsis is living up to its name, I see. They omitted the UI for software updates.

HA! Verizon, you suck. You truly suck.

    • Blue Sun

Where was the Verizon QA Dept when this device was being tested?

      • Pedro

        Playing on their N7s.

  • David Narada Brown

when verizon had the ellipsis tablet made they had no plans on updating software! lmao! i believe it 100%

  • Godzilla

No one wants your piece of shitt tablet, verizon.

    • Adrynalyne

      Don’t insult shitt that way.

  • Zack Kolev

Wake me up when any of these actually get 4.4. So May 2014 or when Android 4.5 comes out. Whichever comes second…

  • Ted S

    xthis is a comment!!!!!

  • SamBoy

after the note 3 update my battery is draining like hell burns

    • Just_Some_Nobody

Sometimes clearing the cache helps. Other times a full factory reset is necessary.

    • Dave

Exactly why I kept my GN2. Obviously not as powerful, but senior tech support told me the exynos chips are hands down more efficient. Can’t give up my 48 hour charge with 6-7 hours screen time. Average.

    • chris125

try a factory reset. Sometimes after an update that does the trick

      • SamBoy

I hate doing factory resets and you sound like a verzion employee thats there answer for everything. I don’t have time to install all my apps again.

        • chris125

Then Dont bitch about it if you can’t take 2 min for the apps to reinstall….

          • SamBoy

It takes alot longer to get back everything you had a phone before a factory reset and som things dont come back like messages you wanted to keep etc….

  • Alex Coldstone Simon

I’m really happy to see the Intuition and Spectrum get updates before my DNA…

    • JoshGroff

Why not flash a 4.3 One port? We all know Verizon and HTC together are terrible with updates so either don’t complain or fix the problem yourself. (That came through a bit ruder than I meant it to sound.)

      • Alex Coldstone Simon

i understand, im not complaining, i knew going into it that updates were not going to come when stated. ** no offense taken.

**source: i’ve had the og droid incredible, rezound.

        • JoshGroff

I had the Rezound, Thunderbolt, and DNA, both were rooted and rommed since day 1. Hardware is nice, but they’re terrible with updates.

          • Alex Coldstone Simon

love the hardware, should’ve rooted long ago…

          • JoshGroff

Try nos’s m7 port, it was one of the best sense roms out when I still had my DNA.

    • Dave

That was the big risk buying that bad boy last year. Roms may be your only hope.

      • Alex Coldstone Simon

i was considering it. i have 2.07 on it and not sure if moonshine works, i have heard it does though. i’ll check it out more in depth.

    • michael arazan

Asurion tried to push the Intuition and spectrum on me as a replacement device for my GNex, I told them I didn’t like LG devices and they offered me a SG3 or a Droid Razr instead. I took the SG3

  • Kassidy Klink

yes they have, expect for the fact that these are not major updates. for example, releasing an update to the razr hd with the newest backup assistant. it’s great that they are paying attention to older devices, but getting out newer versions of the os would be nicer.

  • Cael

Did the Ellipsis 7 break Verizon’s record for device with the fastest update?

    • Adrynalyne

No. Gnex had a day one update.

      • TylerChappell

Sad, but true. And then it got stuck on 4.0.3 for the longest time while every other GNex had 4.0.4.

        • TylerCameron

          The difference between 4.0.3 and 4.0.2 is?…

          • Pedro

  • aye_winchell

wait wat?? They pushed an update to the Ellipsis 7 in order to allow software updates? So they pushed a software update to allow updates to the software….Yo Dog….

    • Adrynalyne

    • poop

But…how do you push a software update that allows you to push software updates without being able to push software updates?

      • LionStone

That kinda makes sense! lol! 😀

      • Droid Ronin

      • michael arazan

Talk about a vicious circle, going to be stuck in an infinite update loop, receives update, loads update, rejects update, yep that’s Verizon’s idea of an update.

Verizon got sick of manually keeping people in update limbo, so they created software that automatically does it for them.

  • Adrynalyne

Ellipsis needs a “Remove HUGE Bezel” update.
