Nexus 7 LTE is Currently No Longer for Sale Through Google Play (Updated)

Screen Shot 2013-09-16 at 11.34.13 AM

We’re not sure if Google has run out of stock, simply removed it from inventory for unspecified reasons, or is tweaking Google Play store pages, but the new 2013 Nexus 7 with LTE is now showing as “not for sale at this time.” In the past when devices have gone out of stock, Google Play will reference the reasons, which typically involves inventory levels. This statement of “not for sale” at this time, just 7 days after the device went on sale for $349, is a bit odd.

We’ll keep an eye on its status and update this post if we learn more.

Update:  It’s now showing as “out of inventory” for some. Maybe Google sold through ’em.

Update 2:  It’s now back in stock.

Man, so glad I got mine ordered yesterday, originally was going to order it last Friday, but was stuck deciding on this or a new phone. Going to be glad I opted for this, but damn if I didn’t cut it close!

They are probably taking out the verizon LTE bands

Why does this site freak out and jump to conclusions as soon as a device sells out? “Oh noes, the week old tablet is probably discontinued!!”

    • Because today is a slow news day and they had nothing else to fill the space. Droid Life, like every other major-league Android blog, plays to fanboys like us and our extreme OCD on all matters Android.

Reaction drives people to the site. People on the site means ad revenue.

Are you sure you’re looking at the LTE version? I see it as unavailable still.

      • NexusPhan69

        I see it as available.
But…. It doesn’t let me complete the order. Closed out Chrome and opened it up again. Lets me add it to the cart but then I get an error.

  • AndrewScottRox

    I blame Verizon.

    • j2000pro

They probably bought the entire stock of them to avoid having an LTE device in the wild that could connect to their network that they can’t control.

    • coolsilver

So do I… I can’t activate mine threw their website. Gave me the run around when I called. Least I have 2GB data of 2G at home for 30 days with T-Mo. LTE at work at least.

      • decidedtochangename

When you connect to 2G do you hear modem tones?

        • coolsilver

Ugh I feel like I should. I can’t load any modern webpage without pain.
