Google Maps on Android Receives Update – Transit Notifications, Tablet Support and Bubble Buttons Added

We are not exactly sure why Google removed the bubble buttons option from Google Maps, but they have returned in an update that should be available to you all in the market right now.  Along with those quick calling and navigation buttons, we also get new transit goodies.  If you are in a city that supports transit navigation, you’ll find ringtone/notification settings and tablet support.  Another solid update for one of the greatest apps ever invented.  Seriously, what would we do without Google Maps?

I just p a i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2-64GB and my boyfriend loves his Panasonîc Lumîx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.

Google maps is allergic to pe4.2… : /

They need to pour some time in refining the navigation software, I understand its free, but when it drops you off 1/2 a mile away from the address you put it, it needs some tweaking

It would be great if updates could go to SD card. On my og droid I had to uninstall launcherpro just to make room for apps. I also had to uninstall flash :(.

Google removed bubble buttons when they updated to 3D view on maps (a.k.a. switched from raster data to vector data). The data format change broke the code for bubble buttons, so they removed it as an option. Since it is not at all a priority, they took their time fixing it — maybe one of the engineers got bored on his lunch break and finally got to it.

I love the bubble buttons. So useful when looking for businesses on Google Maps and just clicking the call button/navigate button. Glad they brought it back!
