Verizon Drops Galaxy Tab Price to $499 Online Too

We caught word of a Galaxy Tab price drop from Verizon to $499 a couple of days ago, but there were questions surrounding the deal’s availability.  Some thought that it was just a regional deal since the online store still showed the full $599 price, but that is no longer the case.  VerizonWireless.com now reflects the $499 price change and it appears to be a permanent move rather than just a promotion.  Unfortunately, there isn’t a mention of the $60 movie credits, so you may still want to head to a store if this is an item you are considering.

Cheers Nick!

If you want one though you might as well wait a couple months for the coming price drop when the honeycomb tablets are released. As we all know this one will never “officially” receive honeycomb and will be way under spec’ed it will have to get cheaper. I would be shocked if that doesn’t produce another price drop.

There are tons of faster and better tablets (and even cheaper) coming real soon.

better, faster — agree. But the good ones will not be cheaper. At least not for another year or two. XOOM will be what? $599 at least? Can’t wait for that.

it won’t run Honeycomb right?. If thats the case….almost worthless.

For the time being it won’t. But certain Droid-Lifers have been know to make the impossible possible from time to time, so I wouldn’t give up on it just yet. :)

Still way to much money, I’d pay two or three hundred only. And anyways I’m waiting for an actual “Droid” tablet.

Good thing, too. With a bunch of dual-core, Honeycomb confirmed tablets on their way, they won’t be able to get rid of these babies at even $499 much longer.
