Think of Tinder as Pandora – you are given a profile complete with a picture, age and a name. Dear devs, if you have created a music client, do not have it fetch lyrics without first getting some sort of license to distribute them. A few months back, we saw CyanogenMod’s music player Apollo get taken down from Google Play for what the developer assumed had to do with his lyric scraping, and now two separate (and popular) music apps have suffered the same fate over the last day or so. Phase Beam has easily been one of the greatest live wallpapers of all time. Introduced as the purplish, bubbly, floaty live wallpaper to Nexus devices, it has been a go-to for us even after so many years. But as you know, we saw the introduction of a new variant with the Google Play Edition devices called Sun Beam, that brought us the same bubbly floaty joy only in a red and orange colorway. It’s beautiful. Have you ever wanted other colors, though? Like, what if you could customize Phase Beam to match your current mood or theme? You can.
An app called Custom Beam LWP was introduced to the Google Play store within the last week that brings Phase Beam to you with a load of customizable features. You can change multiple colors of its appearance, adjust settings for things like the beam angle or gradient angle, tweak the speed, and even have it change depending on your battery state.

MLB’s All Star Week kicks off tonight with the Home Run Derby. To celebrate, the MLB launched an official Home Run Derby app to Google Play today, letting players take control of today’s hottest hitters. The game features some pretty sweet graphics and for being free, is actually quite fun to play. (more…)
Very recently, EA Games decided to remove the old Tetris app that was found on Google Play and added in the newest version, the same that has been on iOS for some time. It features a more modern look, complete with fancy tiles and newer music. Why they decided to completely remove the old one, we don’t know. (more…)
With users flocking away from Falcon Pro and their drama with Twitter, Carbon is looking like a pretty good alternative for 3rd party tweeting. Today, the app received an update to version 1.2.0, bringing a long list of new features, as well as major performance boosts. In the update, the developer has added a built-in browser, allowing users to check out full webpages that were linked to in tweets. On top of that, YouTube video playback has been added, plus Vine video playback. (more…)
Rovio teased it at the end of last week, but it’s now official – Angry Birds Star Wars 2 will launch September 19. It’ll include new characters, the opportunity to choose the “Pork Side,” and a way to teleport figurine characters into the game to customize your lineup.
