As we somehow approach 2027 already, details concerning Samsung’s upcoming lineup of Galaxy S27 devices have surfaced online. Thanks to details made public, we’re learning codenames for the lineup, as well as camera specs.
Codenames: According to the leak, the full codename for the Galaxy S27 series is either Next Miracle or New Miracle. This is fitting, as Galaxy S26 launched with the Miracle codename. Abbreviated codenames for the lineup are as follows.
- Galaxy S27: NM1
- Galaxy S27+: NM2
- Galaxy S27 Pro: NM3
- Galaxy S27 Ultra: NM4
Camera details: Codenames are always fun, but camera specifications have also been detailed from a leaked database, which is way more exciting.
Sony will be supplying the rear-side cameras, with the Galaxy S27 Ultra (NM4) reported to feature 5x optical zoom via a 50MP sensor, plus an additional zoom sensor. There will also be a 50MP ultrawide camera, powered by a new Sony IMX855 sensor. That sensor is currently found on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That same IMX855 sensor will also available be available on the Galaxy S27 Pro (NM3). Not mentioned but expected would be Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL sensor to act as the main camera for both models.
Samsung appears to be employing a new self-made selfie camera, listed at 16MP for both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. The new selfie camera is detailed to offer auto focus, as well as optical image stabilization (OIS).
Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will feature what look to be identical camera setups: 50MP main shooter, 12MP ultrawide, and a currently unknown third sensor for the zoom camera.
It’s hard not get excited for upcoming phone leaks, especially if it means improved camera experiences for Android buyers.
