  • First to get the update to KitKat: Verizon. Last to get the update to fix KitKat’s broken stuff (corporate mail, etc): Verizon. *bangs head on desk*

  • I didn’t take part in the soak…waiting to find out what changes are in it. I also need a reliable noob procedure to take the update, (Dev Edition, unlocked bootloader, rooted, TWRP recovery, Xposed with Gravity Box).

  • I’m thinking bug fix and updating stock apps to the play store versions. Plus the 0.0.2 update.

  • It’a somewhat minor update and people on google+ have been going bananas wanting it. I am quite pleased with this phone and look forward to the update. I truly hope with the lenovo purchase nothing changes and still full steam ahead, they do make some great laptops.

      • Yeah, they irk everyone because they point to a larger annoyance and uncertainty about the sale. That’s sort of the point I think.

  • I think I’m getting a Moto X this weekend, if all goes according to plan (with my extra $30 off code). Switching to T-Mobile from Verizon. Every new post about the Moto X gets excited again!

    • I just did this very thing. My wife and I are saving $50 per month, I love the phone, and the service has been fine.

    • If your having them pay your etf keep in mind you have to finance a phone and they don’t sell the moto x.

      • What I did was give in my Galaxy Nexus, picked up a iPhone 5S in Gold full price then sold it for 50$(like 5$ more after ebay fees) on eBay. I didn’t lose anything and I got my ETF paid, which was a full 350 because I just upgraded. Picked up a 5S for fun to go with my X 😉

    • I have a code I could give you. My wife decided to go with a Moto G, so I don’t need the code anymore. Just let me know.

      • Haha, thanks, but I actually got one the day of the sale and I’ve been saving it to make sure the switch would really happen (since I’m on a family plan). That’s super cool of you, though. 🙂

    • Came from Verizon too. My walnut X is being assembled now! Wish is was here already. T-Mobile service has been fine so far. No complaints yet.

    • I switched from Verizon 2 weeks ago. Can’t be happier. I get HSPA in a bunch of places where I would get 1x(WHAT WHAT WHAT) and there is only one spot that I get No Service when I usually get crap LTE and some 3G. That’s alright, because it’s only one spot, the internet was unusable in that area anyways. The most important part is that I now get to use the Nexus, Moto X I’ve had for 2 months, and any other unlocked global phone. And as a bonus I get to save about 80$ with my family plan and get unlimited. Yeah. Go for the Moto X, you won’t be disappointed.

    • All I know is, I would never have bought my Moto X had the Lenovo sale gone through beforehand.

Am I happy with the phone now? Yes.
Do I trust that Lenovo will keep me happy in year’s time? No.

      My 2 cents.

      • I’m still going to buy one in a couple months used, so I won’t feel as bad as paying full price if they stop supporting it in any way. Actually I plan on buying two of them one for my bro’s bday

can anyone on KK veriify that does method works for native tether for the droid maxx ?

edit: i just noticed this art isn’t about the maxx, but perhaps someone knows.
I would like to take update of kit kit and not lose the option to tether.

  • To which P3Droid and JCase are saying not to download if you want to keep root. This may be the one to break all known root methods…

    • well since it’s the tmobile version, it has an unlockable bootloader so you can always just flash supersu through a custom recovery. i think this would be more of a concern on vzw & att models

      • if your maxx is rooted, you can just get the wireless tether app. better than native tether imo because of access control and it tells you how much data is being sent over the tethered connection

  • Hopefully this includes the much needed fix for the Exchange email bug that was introduced in 4.4
