Now that the Pixel 11 series is official and we can talk about everything on each device (cameras, battery life, Rambler), there are all sorts of little secrets we’ve seen over the past week we wanted to share. One of those is the new Pixel Search app.
This popped up on our Pixel 11 review units last week as an update that was really just the initial release. Google doesn’t provide a description for the app, but it certainly looks like a way for Google to continuously improve the on-device Pixel Search functionality through Google Play rather than as a part of a system update.
In the images for the new app, Google shows that you can search quickly for your photos, calendars, and apps and open them instantly. You can also search for actions, through your work profile, and even get support. Of course, this is all functionality we’ve had.
At this moment, I’m able to install this on Pixel 11 series devices and the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. I’d imagine Google will expand this to other Pixel devices soon enough.
