CES doesn’t start for a couple of days, but KitchenAid just surprised us with a Google Assistant powered smart display that might be the smart display to buy. Yep, the KitchenAid that makes appliances for your kitchen is entering the smart space.

What’s the deal with this KitchenAid smart display? It’s the smart display you are seeing above. And since it’s a smart display, that means you’ve got Google Assistant ready to answer questions, tell you the news, show you the weather, play music and TV, and control your smart home. KitchenAid wants you to use it to cook, though, so they’ve partnered with Yummly to do recipes. With that said, Google has been pushing recipe integration already, so I’m not sure the Yummly partnership matters that much.

What does matter is the 10-inch display, which is on the bigger side for a smart display. This bad boy is also IPX5 water resistant, so you should be able to easily wash it off after a wild cooking party. That’s pretty awesome.

The KitchenAid smart display will arrive in the 2nd half of 2019 and should cost between $200 and $300.
