The most premium Xperia XZ2 model from Sony, the XZ2 Premium, is now up for pre-order through Amazon for $999.99. Because this is a pre-order, please note that launch is set for July 30.
I say Premium is the most premium because this XZ2 unit is outfitted with a 4K HDR Triluminos display, the highest display resolution available in the XZ2 range. It also comes with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 3540mAh battery, 6GB RAM, fingerprint reader, dual rear-facing cameras, plus Sony’s Dynamic Vibration System. Overall, a similar spec list to the other XZ2 models.
Now, while $999 is going to be hard to swallow for an unlocked device regardless of what it is, Sony is sweetening the pot a bit by what’s included with your purchase. Inside the box you’ll find an Xperia Ear Duo True Wireless headset. Purchased separately, you’d be spending $280 on those. Getting them free with a purchase of this phone is a solid bonus.

Only Apple and Samsung can get away with these kinds of prices (and, to an extent only recently, Google), not sure what Sony is thinking with this one.
They probably think the “free” in box wireless headset will attract buyers. It brings the price of the phone down to $719. I’d be interested but I’m still waiting to see what the Pixel 3 brings before I decide on a phone for this year.

I mean I bought the XZ premium…but waited for it to drop to $600 after 2 or so months. Wonder how long it will take for this one to drop….I don’t see people spending $1000 on this
