Last week when we wrote up the Portal application, the developer showed off how you can view floating notifications while on top of games and apps. Well, the game he demonstrated the functionality with caught everyone’s eye, so I went to Google Play to check it out. The game is called True Skate, and is probably the best skateboarding experience outside of riding a real board, besides those TechDeck mini skateboards that everyone had back in the day. Ah, memories.

In True Skate, your fingers act as your feet. When sliding your finger down the display alongside the board, it is as if you are pushing on the cement, propelling your board forward. Once you are moving, you can perform an ollie, which then leads to a vast array of different aerial flips and poll grinds you can accomplish inside of a large skatepark.

There are lots of missions and challenges in the game, so if you like skateboarding, I can’t imagine you would ever get bored of this game. It’s $1.99 on Google Play, so go check it out.
