  • Why is there no love on here for the Droid2? I have CM7 2.3.5 on my D2 and according to the Devs the D2 version of CM is moving faster towards official release then the DX version….

  • My quadrant score is unbelievable.   I’m overclocked to 1.3v on low voltage and my 2nd quadrant run was 2798.  Is there some type of “cheat” built into CM or can we trust quadrant?

  • This is the first time I’ve installed a nightly, or even looked at updates since this was released (I’ve had it on my phone since release). The camera appears to be broken still on this version. Any idea when they plan to fix that? Would check their forums but they are down for maintenance. Thanks.

  • Rom Manager premium will not let me download the nightlies. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but no go. Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it?

    • I think I might have had the same problem. Do they just not show up for you? In ROM Manager (I believe it has to be the Premium version), select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and choose Droid X (2nd-init). You might have to reboot, but they should show up afterwards.

  • CM4DX was great.  I just couldn’t stand the battery life anymore.  I couldn’t even make it 5-6 hours.  I’m sure it’ll get fixed up soon.  I’ll probably go back when it gets an actual release candidate.

    • anytime i flash a rom for any phone it always seemed like my battery life was horrible so I stopped rooting and get great battery 

  • APEX is still the best for speed, reliability, and battery life. and you add any blur features as you wish, like the awesome blur camera

    • Is Apex based on CM 7 or is it crappy 596?  I was getting music reboots even on roms based on 596.

  • I’m running liquid right now. Do i have to sbf back to froyo in order to install this or can i just install right over liquid??

  • For those asking, cm7 is very stable on droid x…i’ve had it on mine since mid June and have updated consistently. I flash a camera/camcorder fix and it works like a charm. I’ve only once had an issue with “searching for gps” but that was several nightlies ago.

    in related news, “nightlies” is a unit of measurement. Recently my wife and I went on vacation for 6 nightlies. The NFL lockout lasted about six months but only 42 nightlies. I can’t believe that August is going to be here in only 4 more nightlies! where does the time go?! Crap I’ve got a report due tomorrow and i have less than a nightly to finish it!

    ?I’m a teacher and I’m going to rewrite my classroom policy on missed assignments due to absence. All assignments are due promptly the nightly you return to school!

  • Gotta love Cm7 developers- Respect! I aint going back to any other rom neither am i changing my phone!(droid2) cause of the bootloader. Quick question though, does 2.3.5 mean that the phone actually runs that specific update? I find it hard to believe that my droid 2 is running the latest update thanks to the devs.

    • more phones run the latest updates SPECIFICALLY because of the Devs, certainly NOT because of the OEMs and Carriers!

  • I love my DX now that it has CM7 on it but its been getting less than steller battery life. I am on nightly 38. Guess i’ll try updating to the latest nightly and see if that helps.

    • Have you tried battery calibration from the market??

      In the build.config file there is a standard value for what our battery can handle… but the problem is not all batteries are made equal.

      EVERY time I flash a new system I charge my phone up fully, then once fully charged I run this app and it deletes that stock build.config file, with correct values for YOUR battery.

      To ensure the most life out of the battery kill it all the way first time around.

      I have NO issues with battery life!!!!!

  • i have changed it in the settings but it still unlocks when pressing the menu button.

  • I have a droid x that’s running Apex, android 2.2. 
    Ive heard that I’ll lose my wireless tether once I upgrade to Gingerbread. Is there a work around for this? 
    Does the c7 allow for wireless tether even though its on 2.3? 

  • How many features are still not working with CM? I have read in a lot of places that things like GPS, camera and others are still a no go.

    • when I had it cm7 there was no youtube/video and I had to use a camera fix. they may have fixed that stuff recently though.

    • Same questions here. I just have not had the time to pour through the long forum threads and the like to find out the current state of CM for the DX. 

    • The nightlies for the DX still have to be patched to get the camera, camcorder, torch and video working. The FM radio and HDMI out are not working.

    • GPS, camera and torch do work. The ROM is silky smooth and quick. I have had a couple small issues though and battery life isn’t great. I’m a big fan of CM, but this won’t be my daily driver much longer. However, if you are bored or feel like experimenting, CM will keep you occupied for days! Lots of features to play with.

    • gps and camera/camcorder work fine.
      camera only 480P res is selectable (i believe)
      everything worked great but for me i wanted hdmi out to work
      mini hdmi out to standard hdmi tv.
      for pictures and movies…..
      im running the alltel rom rooted on my droid-x (basically froyo android 2.2.1) but without all of verizons apps installed
      i get great battery life.
      note:
      im using skype over wifi and the phone is not activated with verizon.
      if i leave my wifi to never shut off and also set battery to performance so wifi never disconnects
      i get about 24 or more before i have to charge
      note2:
      i am in airplane mode with only wifi on
      default backlight

    • Came in here to ask if I should leave my new beautiful, sexy, perfect, stunning and absolutely amazing MIUI for this.. and what the difference is.. 😀 Is CM7 fully stable now for the DX, or are there tons of fixes and patches here and there? 

      • Running MIUI with ADW EX. Runs like a champ! I looooove all the features/customization MIUI offers. CM7 had a lot, but no where near as much as MIUI does.

    • I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panas0nic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.     • I’m loving MIUI with the exception of my bluetooth headset not having sound with calls…That’s a dealbreaker for me 🙁

      • I agree it’s a fail. I can’t sync my bluetooth in my car either. But still not a dealbreaker for me.

    • Tried cm7, couldn’t deal with the poor battery life. Now running miui and loving it.

    • yess…..btw in rom manager should i flash clockworkmod recovery for D2 or dx (2nd-init) for my droid 2 if i want to flash this

  • Nightly for the Droid 2 from last night is also on 2.3.5, and seems very stable.
