Cyber Monday, Black Friday, the Moto X fiasco, and the rest of the holiday weekend may be over, but deals continue to flow in since the holiday shopping season is only now getting under way. For those with a phone that can utilize wireless charging (Nexus 5, DROID MAXX, LG G2 on Verizon, etc.) yet haven’t purchased a wireless charger because most are overpriced, feel free to check out today’s deal through Daily Steals.
They are currently selling the Incipio GHOST 100 wireless charger that was made specifically for the new DROID family of phones at 50% off or $20. Well, it’s “DROID” branded anyway. The good news is that it’s Qi-enabled, so it should work with almost any phone that has wireless charging capabilities. It should work with all of the phones I mentioned above, along with the Galaxy S4 (with a wireless charging back), DROID DNA, DROID Mini, and others.

Tylt, an accessory company largely know for its Tylt Vu wireless charger, is hosting a site-wide 50% off sale for Cyber Monday. The Tylt Vu is more than likely the accessory you’ll want to pick up (especially the new Nexus 5 owners in the building), thanks to its beautiful soft touch finish, variety of vibrant colors, and excellent viewing angle during charges, however, the rest of their accessories are of the highest quality too. Did you pick up the official Nexus Wireless Charger that went on sale through Google Play yesterday? I can imagine that the $49.99 price tag made some of you hesitate on pulling on the trigger, so as always, we picked one (or two) up to give it a quick spin and share our thoughts. For those not familiar, the Nexus Wireless Charger (NWC) is officially supported by the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013), and Nexus 4, since each has wireless charging built-in. With that said, I would be surprised if this charger didn’t work with other wireless charging-capable devices like the new DROID line. Unfortunately, we don’t have those in house any longer, so we won’t be able to test.
According to Nikkei, Sony and Rohm are to introduce a new wireless charging device, capable of fully charing a smartphone in just an hour. Sony comments that the, “device uses 10-15 watts and supplies twice the electricity of previous chargers, cutting charging time by half, to around one hour.” As of right now, the specifications are being finalized by the Wireless Power Consortium, based on the Qi international standard. Samsung finally released their Qi wireless charging back for the Galaxy S4 back in June, which we took a brief look at. Wireless charging has always been a nice add-on to phones, assuming you are willing to pay the price for the setup that typically includes a $50 charging pad along with a $40 wireless charging-ready back plate. Well, unless your phone has wireless charging built-in, then all you need is the pad. Either way, it’s not necessarily thought to be a reasonably priced charging alternative, but more of a luxury item. But what if you could get yourself into the pad for 50% off or $25? You can. The Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit finally went on sale at the beginning of June for a not-so-cheaply-set price of $90. We got a hold of one today to show off in case any of you had plans on picking one up, but were waiting to hear more details. So, here is a quick look at both the charging cover ($40) and the charging pad ($50). (more…)
Over the weekend, the wireless charging covers for the Samsung Galaxy S4 went on sale in a number of Verizon stores for $39.99, but remained absent from their online shop. This morning, that changed. You can find both the white and black wireless charging covers through VZW.com for the same price, should the Qi lifestyle interest you. Keep in mind that you’ll also need some sort of wireless charging pad, which typically start at around $40. So yes, to be a wireless machine, you need to be ready to fork out at least $80.
Verizon Links: White | Black ($39.99)
Just over a week ago, Samsung announced that they had made their own wireless charging cover and charging pad for the Galaxy S4 available through their online accessory shop. It has since sold out a couple of times, even with the bundle running $90. If you have yet to pick one up and have been on the lookout, think about stopping into your local Verizon store. As you can see from the picture above, stores are starting to carry the black version equipped with Verizon and 4G LTE branding.
The cover by itself runs $39.99, just as it does through Samsung’s shop. We’ve also been told that if your store doesn’t have them in stock, that they can be ordered over the phone. For whatever reason, they are not currently available through Verizon’s site, though we would assume that they will be before long.
Or you could swing into the the online DL store, which apparently still has the bundle.
