Ready to learn all about the next Nexus? According to our pal Taylor from Android and Me, the next in the program will indeed be made by LG and will be dubbed the Optimus G Nexus. For a couple of weeks now, rumors surrounding the next Nexus included LG, but Taylor claims to have essentially confirmed it with a handful of sources. We know him personally and tend to take him for his word, especially in Nexus talks.

As you all know, the Optimus G is already a favorite of ours because of its more-than-impressive set of specs which include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP (8MP in some cases) camera, a brilliant 4.7″ IPS+ HD display, and a slim body. The skinned version will arrive on AT&T and Sprint at some point in the near future, but according to today’s rumors, the Nexus version could arrive in November.  

The LG Optimus G will arrive on AT&T and Sprint…at some point. According to LG, these two carriers will be among the first to offer it, we just don’t know when that will be. We aren’t even being told “coming weeks” or “soon” or “November” – it’s basically a mystery. I would assume it will arrive before the holidays or this is the most pre-mature press release in history. Either way, Verizon customers should be saddened, as this phone is a true beast. 

LG held a brief Optimus G event today in New York and our buddy Kover was able to stop by to get some hands-on time with it. In the 6-minute video below, one of the LG reps on hand takes us through some of the fancy new features that LG is hoping will help sell this device, similarly to how Samsung pushed sharing instead of specs with the Galaxy S3. I can’t help but admit that I’m impressed by what LG has done here, even if the look of the skin is a little too cheesy for my liking. But hey, that can be hidden for the most part with a third party launcher. 

That name has a good ring to it. LG Optimus Nexus. According to the Associated Press, LG’s newest device the Optimus G, will be hitting the States this November. So far it is only rumored to come to both AT&T and Sprint, but with no word yet for Verizon. The newest rumor to pop up from Android and Me backs up a previous rumor suggesting that LG may also be working on one of the new Nexus devices and could be titled the Optimus Nexus. As of now there’s no evidence to support the claim, but with LG putting out specs such as the ones in this newest device, it might be nice to see LG give a Nexus device a shot.  

We just left the LG Optimus G event in NYC and will have video and photos from it up shortly, but for now, we recommend that you watch this video that LG has put together. While this phone boasts some of the most impressive specs on the planet, LG didn’t want to stop there. They created an entirely new UX with interactive features that help you “cross-task.” 

In case you were wondering, the LG Optimus G will arrive on U.S. soil some time in November. No carrier partners have been announced for the beastly phone, but since it’s an LTE device, that at least narrows it down to Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, doesn’t it? We are hoping to find out for sure tomorrow, when LG and Qualcomm take the stage in NYC to talk about the device.

It has been a while since LG produced a smartphone that one should get excited over after reading a press release, but that’s exactly what we have with the Optimus G, their newest flagship device. Launching next week in Korea, and the rest of the globe in October, this phone on paper, can’t be matched by any other smartphone in the world.  

There wasn’t much doubt that LG was going to announce the Optimus G on September 19, but now we would almost bet on it. The device was just spotted on LG’s Korean Youtube page in its first commercial spot. It doesn’t really say much unless your fluent in Korean, but the phone is shown off a few times.
