This might be the pre-holiday deal of the century. If you had been holding out from buying one of the Droid branded phones, then hopefully this will be reason enough to pull out the credit card and join the most dominant family in the Android game. Actually, you don’t even need to pull out a credit card since they are all only a single penny. Yep, 1 cent for the Droid X. 1 cent for the Incredible. 1 cent for the brand new Droid Pro.
The deal lasts until the 29th of this month assuming supplies last.
Head over to Amazon now to grab them!
The Droid Pro has only been available in stores for 1 full day and can already be snagged at a steal of a price over at Best Buy. If you don’t want to pay the $179 price at Verizon stores, then how does $99 sound? It also looks like you won’t have to deal with those pesky rebates, but you will of course have to sign a standard 2-year contract. Gotta love the holidays.
Oh and check out our unboxing of the Droid Pro to see exactly what you’ll be enjoying.
The Droid Pro has been available online for almost a week now, but officially landed on store shelves today for those interested in this “Blackberry killing”, global roaming, newest family member of ours. We just got ours yesterday and wanted to put it through a proper unboxing before we head into an in-depth review. Our initial impressions are that this phone definitely has a place in the Android world and hopefully through our coverage we can help you decide if it fits into yours. (more…)
We just received our Droid Pro, but for the rest of you waiting to get your hands on one before taking the dive, your time has come. The DP will hit Verizon stores tomorrow and be available for $179 on 2-year contract or $479 if you just want to buy one outright. As you can see from the shot above, they should have a solid amount in stock, but hurry in anyway to see if this really is the Blackberry killer.
Oh, and our unboxing should be on Youtube in about an hour and on the site tomorrow morning.
Those of you that purchased a Droid 2 Global or Droid Pro thinking that it would run on AT&T’s network may be a little disappointed to find out that Verizon has quietly blocked it. The hardware of both phones appears to support AT&T’s 850 and 1900 GSM bands, but their may be firmware that is restricting access to them. While I can’t imagine too many people would be surprised by this, it is something to be aware of if you were hoping for some reason to play around on AT&T’s not-so-amazing network. The good news, is that you’ll be fine in the rest of the world and with Verizon’s coverage almost everywhere here in the states, life will go on.
After the break we have shots showing that both phones should technically work on AT&T’s network, plus a map of the few other countries you may struggle with. (more…)
Last week we welcomed in two new family members, the Droid Pro and the still unannounced Droid 2 Global. Both devices haven’t seen a huge marketing push and sort of fall under the sneaky original D2 category, but we do know that many of you ordered them immediately. Since we have yet to get our hands on either, how about you give the rest of us your initial thoughts?
Loving the candy bar keyboard on the Pro? How about the 1.2GHz boost on the D2 Global?
The first SnowBot commercial we saw featured both the Droid 2 and Droid X, but after the announcement of the Droid Pro, we’re now seeing an updated spot which includes the new global Blackberry killer. As a former Blackberry owner, I can’t wait to get my hands on this phone, just to giggle a little at how fun it will be to watch Android gobble up this market as well. (more…)
The Droid Pro and Droid 2 Global went on sale last night online and we want to know who bought one already or is at least considering buying one of them. Our inboxes led us to believe that a number of you have already forked over the cash, but we want numbers! Interested in either one or waiting for something else?
