Official CM10 Nightlies Available for 4G and WiFi Motorola XOOM Models, Never Say Die

The Motorola XOOM, the original Android tablet, launched Honeycomb as an operating system a while back. Today, the CyanogenMod team is gracing the two models of the device with nightlies for Jelly Bean. This proves that in this fast-paced mobile market, you can still build a quality piece of hardware that can get support for a while down the road.

CM10 is slowly making its way onto more and more devices so it might not be long until we see an official build out for the XOOM. If you are looking to download the Android 4.1 goodness for your tablet right now, hit the links below and get to flashing.

When is My Android Phone Getting Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)? [Verizon]

The Jelly Bean update situation on Verizon is a tricky one. I say that because most Android phone manufacturers have yet to even update most of their phones to Ice Cream Sandwich. So how can we start talking about Jelly Bean updates? Well, we know that many of you are always looking for the most current information on this subject and thought we may as well create the official page for it just like we did with Android 4.0. Once word starts trickling out from Motorola, Samsung and the rest of the major players, we will update this post. I’d say that this is definitely one that you should bookmark. You will also find a shortcut to it in the sidebar.  (more…)

Daily Steals Offloading Brand New Motorola XOOM 4G LTE Tablets for $250

When will supplies of this tablet run out? It seems that at least once or twice a month they go on these flash sale sites and they never disappear. This time, it’s a bit different though. Over at Daily Steals, they have brand new (not refurbished) Motorola XOOM tablets for $250. They are 32GB in size, but the real kicker is that these are the 4G LTE versions and not the WiFi-only variants. When first released, they were $700+ at Verizon.

If you’ve been looking for a good tablet that is built like a tank, then check out the XOOM. It’s still expected to receive Jelly Bean and is the original Android OG tablet. History right here.

Cheers John, Robert, Cory, and Matt!

XOOM 3G Available for $199 Today From DailySteals

Another week, another deal on the Motorola XOOM. This time though, it’s the 3G version that you can connect to Verizon’s network, should you need to. It’s not the 4G LTE enabled version, and probably never will be since those upgrades ended months ago. But no matter what, $199 for a 32GB dual-core tablet is still a pretty good deal. While I would recommend that you skip these every single day of the week and buy a Nexus 7, some of you may prefer the larger 10″ screen (and in this cases 10x heavier) size.

The device itself has been “factory recertified.”

Jelly Bean Build JRO03H Released for Rooted Verizon Motorola XOOM 4G LTE Owners

The owner of a developer edition of Verizon’s Motorola XOOM 4G LTE has been pushed the official Jelly Bean update and has decided to make it available for all. The large file is flashed through ClockworkMod Recovery so having a rooted XOOM is a must. The zip is a nandroid backup, so essentially this is exactly what happened when the GSM Galaxy Nexus was pushed Jelly Bean, which was then ported to every other device in existence.  (more…)

Jelly Bean for Verizon’s XOOM 4G LTE Shows Up for at Least One Lucky Customer

When Motorola announced that the WiFi-only version of the Motorola XOOM was receiving Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.1), we sort of assumed that it would be a while before the 4G LTE version were to see it. After all, it has only been on Ice Cream Sandwich since late June, and knowing that Verizon tends to take their time when readying/approving updates for devices, we figured it could be a couple of months.

According to one of our readers though, his 4G LTE XOOM received Jelly Bean over the weekend. The build number is the newest, JRO03H, and you can see from the baseband and his notification tray that this is indeed the Verizon variant. In the screenshots below, he also has Google Now pulled up, an Android 4.1 feature, showing off his local weather.

We aren’t sure if this means that Verizon is ready to give this update the green light or if this lucky reader of ours simply got in on a test push that wasn’t supposed to be made public. Either way, this is a good sign for the few of us rockin’ a carrier-branded XOOM.  (more…)

Motorola XOOM Speaker Dock on Woot for Just $20

If you still don’t own an official speaker dock from Motorola for your XOOM tablet, then this is the time to do it. For just $20, you can pick up the black classy dock for your 10.1″ slate that runs the almighty Jelly Bean (if you own the WiFi version). We can’t see it becoming much cheaper than this until the day they start just giving them away, so if you’ve been looking, here you go.

Cheers Jeremy!
