Fleksy’s Full-screen Hidden Keyboard is Cooler Than Your Keyboard

Sorry for the second Fleksy keyboard post in as many hours, but we were sort of blown away by some of the advanced controls that are included with this keyboard, most notably the option to go full-screen hidden keyboard. Yes, that sounds as awesome and confusing as one might think. Watch the video and see.

You’ll also find a bunch of other advanced controls here. To get in on the beta, find instructions here.

Mind blown?

Cheers DroidzFX!

dont know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but there is now a spell checker option as well if you tap “about” 10 times. it will give you corrected words even if you add or leave out letters.

“We are working on providing Spellcheck, which accommodates for missing or extra letters.

There is already an experimental feature available in this beta, depending on your device:

Go to Fleksyโ€™s Settings and enable โ€œCorrect spelling errorsโ€. This feature will get better with every version.

    works on the nexus 4

The inherent flaw with this and for anything that involves not intuitive ‘gestures’ is that it’s not user friendly at all.
GL teaching this to older business professionals or seniors.

  • Vichka Fonarev

jow did you get the software buttons to do that

  • Chaz Morrow

when i swipe z to m in invisible layout it does not send. Does an [enter]. I am having to return (close the kb) then press enter to send ๐Ÿ™ Different tip for this? TIA

  • Neat feature! May have to try it out!

Side question Kellex: what did you use to change your navigation bar icons?

  • prashant

please share its apk.. i’m unable to download though I registered myself as a tester.

  • Jason Kahn

A huge learning curve, it’s getting better at word prediction, but you have to be really careful with longer more complex sentences. For now swiftkey flow is a much faster typing experience at least for me.

  • Reginald Spence II

  • Mr E

pretty cool. Swiftkey, make a semi-transparent theme!

  • realfoxm

I don’t understand how to space after you’ve hidden they keyboard

  • socalrailroader

Hidden keyboards do NOT sound awesome to me, especially on a touch screen. I can type blind on a physical keyboard, but forget it on a tiny touchscreen, with no physical keys.

    • Tyler

Tiny touchscreen? You using an iPhone?

    • Droidtommy

      Use the Force, Luke….

  • Chuck Zich

How to put a space after a word with invisible keyboard mode?

  • Bigwavedave25

I’m game, this is pretty cool so far. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • deandre p owens

How do I install the apk

  • Cory_S

Careful, you almost opened your space inventory.

  • Nathan D

Seems great for Samsung’s Multi-Window features!

Now people can have their keyboard open without wasting space!

  • Jason13L

I am not seeing how to type numbers with the minimized or invisible keyboard. What am I missing?

    • DroidzFX

invisible its not possible but when minimized without keyboard you swipe from lower right straight up.

      • Jason13L

        Thank you, sir (ma’am… droid?)

  • Daniel Russell

Keyboard within a keyboard, within a keyboard, within another keyboard. Crazy Stuff. Tried it and it’s awesome.

  • DroidzFX

FYI: Once the keyboard is hidden you have to swipe Z to M to send.

    • Pro tip again.

      • DroidzFX

I was testing it and could not figure it out. Checked all the guides..nothing. Then went to report a feature and it was mentioned in there.

      • akazerotime

        Just the tip?

    • Jason13L

Swiping single finger? I seem to just get a hard return.

      • DroidzFX

yeah its a little tricky but i just swipe from far lower left to the right and it works.

        • Jason13L

I will just stick with reduced size and show off invisible in a controlled environment. I try swiping form z (lower left) to M (lower right) and get

      • S2556

        That’s what she said

    • Aran Miller

this was driving me insane! I love the invisible keyboard (full invisible, type anywhere) but I coudln’t figure out how to send it, and low and behold, here is my answer. Thanks!

    • It is entering a new line in the text input field; not sending the text. ๐Ÿ™ In whatsapp.

      • Ram

Press the back button of Android and lo you can press the enter key of whatsapp.

        • Yea, that I figured out. But that’s a hassle.
          Thanks anyways.

          • Ram

Bikram, there is another setting in whatsapp where it considers enter as send and if this setting is done then you can swipe from left to right to generate enter ๐Ÿ™‚

  • ugh I can’t stand all ofthese hyper-predictive keyboard layouts.

I type a lot of weird “proper nouns” that simply become hindrances to these types of keyboards.

    • Mr E

I hear ya — it can get annoying. I would suggest trying SwiftKey for a while though as one of its big features is that it will learn what you type (assuming you type the same weird proper nouns more than once), so they’ll become part of your suggestion library.

  • Not hard to like this keyboard. I just have to stop swiping to write out words lol.

  • JetBlue

Thought this keyboard was just another gimmick but looks like it has potential.

  • DroidzFX

    Just doing my part.

  • yodatom10

what soft key mod are you using assuming its a mod. looks really cool. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • HTC First “Facebook Phone” keys for that SoftKeyz app.

      • yodatom10

      • RAZR_FANN

Hah, looks like you get one of these every time you whip out the Nexus 4 in a video.
