Sprint’s Galaxy Note 2 Gets First Update, Multi-Window Feature Included

If you’re on Sprint, and happen to own a Galaxy Note 2, then you’re about to be living the good life. For us Americans who have been clamoring on about the multi-window feature that Samsung showed off on the Galaxy Note 2, but didn’t release stateside, we can finally shut up. Today, Sprint has announced an update that will bring this highly sought-after feature to the already Jelly Bean-packed monster device that is the Note 2.

Of course, the next question we will begin to ask ourselves, can we expect this feature to be present when it is launched on Verizon? Fingers crossed ever so tightly that the files found in this software image remain intact and our dreams will come true.

Go to Settings, Application Manager,All, Google Services Framework, Clear data, Force Stop, return to Settings, System Update. This should work. It worked for me, good luck. 🙂

Does anyone that has the note 2 know if adobe Photoshop touch works on this phone. Thanks

  • AranelAlasse

maybe it’ll have the new jelly bean on it when verizon releases it. (or, at least, I can dream, right??)

  • geocab

I played with this phone at the local Sprint store and I like it very much. My only remaining fear is the screen brightness. Decisions decisions.

Another bonus is you can now use any app as multiscreen if you are rooted. See it here:

But until Verizon releases this phone and someone finds a way to unlock it I won’t be able to enjoy this awesome feature with any app I want 🙁

  • im sick of waiting. Verizon needs to release it NOW 🙁

    • joseph johnson

Yeah I have no idea what Verizon is waiting for. By the time they release it will have been out for over a month on the other carriers.

      • michael arazan

Most of the updates vzw releases have been out elsewhere for 2-6 months on average, don’t hold your breath.

  • cooksta32676

Does this mean multiple apps on one screen?

  • Nazzi_Muhammad

The international version of this phone already has the multi-window thang. Super cool and hard to get use to after using the other retarded faux multi-tasking window.

And the Note 2 is the bomb…

  • BigL

Damn T-mobile, where is Multi-Window in your Galaxy Note II?????

    • yarrellray

I’m waiting too on Tmobile for the Galaxy Note 2 to get this feature. Either way on November 15th I will be purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on Tmobile. The update will come…

  • yarrellray

I gotta applaud Sprint they have been pounding everybody lately. They were the first carrier to jellybean for the Galaxy S3 over almost three weeks ago. Now this first to the Galaxy Note 2 multitasking window feature they have done major work. I applaud Sprint big time. Everyone else really needs to get busy. The Verizon version will have it installed out the box why because Samsung truly wanted thus device to launch in November 2nd or 3rd week.

they are trying to make up for it taking 3 + mins for a web page to load

  • Stephen

What do ya know.. Sprint pushed another update before vzw and AT&T

    • chris125

Hard to push an update on a phone not even available to buy yet(vzw note 2)

  • jbegs

Looks like VZW lists it within the features of the phone already: http://shop.verizonwireless.com/?id=galaxynote2

    • MotoRulz

Unfortunately we don’t have the phone yet.. I am dying waiting on it.

  • jer85008

Any leaks on what Verizon is planning with direct sales? I want to transfer an upgrade on my family plan, so I have to do it through them but want a smokin holiday deal.

  • T-W0N

WIll the Multi-Window feature be available for the G-nex? maybe someone can extract it? 😀

  • David Arensdorff

Glad to see them staying on top of their Flagship phone…unlike other’s I’ve bared witness to.

*Now back to contantly checking for firmware upgrade*

  • fartbubbler

dang, I’m really eager for the big V to release this!!!

  • HTC DNA or Galaxy Note 2 the battle of the Century! HTC needs to surprise us with AOSP instead of Sense that will definitely tip the scale.

    • jmasterj

You know that will never happen, right? People who want the DNA will have to accept Sense (existing, at least, even if they use another launcher), at least until someone gets S-Off.
