  •  I am one of those that always seems to go back to stock but if there was one feature I wish it had it would be pin-to-zoom. xScope has it and the easy one handed zooming is awesome but no browser seems to work as smooth as stock for me.

  • Thank you a lot for giving everyone an exceptionally marvellous possiblity to read articles and blog posts from this web site. It’s usually very fantastic and as well , packed with a great time for me personally and my office peers to visit your site at the least thrice in a week to read the latest items you have got. And of course, I’m so always astounded with the splendid tips served by you. Some 2 areas in this post are particularly the most beneficial I’ve had.

Would love to see another “browser poll” kel…..on that note, Miren has been the only alt browser 2 keep me from using The stock browser…..ive tried them all at some point in the last year and a half, but kept going back 2 stock, Miren just does it 4 me

The only thing the stock browser utterly fails x100 at is easy tab management. C’mon now Google, I’m smh at you now…

  • Browser poll!! I’d like to see what everyone’s preferred browser is and why. I currently use stock because (from what I understand) it is the fastest. I’ll have to give the new Dolphin a try.

Tried it, slow, and fc all the time. No thanks stick with Stock browser

  • JSK

It wont install for me, anyone else?

It tells me all user data will be saved after I open it from my previous dolphin install but then it says “application not installed”.

I dont want to uninstall the old Dolphin as I dont want to lose my bookmarks.

  • I’ll try it out but the stock browser is surprisingly good.

For my Droid, I use Dolphin HD because it’s better than the stock phone browser.

However, for the XOOM, the Honyecomb browser is still the winner because of the quick controls. It’s frustrating trying to use Dolphin now, because when I slide my thumb onto the screen, I am only greeted with a silly side menu and no controls. I have to scroll all the way to the top of the screen for the address bar, or reach over and hit the menu button in order to bring up any controls. I was mistaken thinking Dolphin 5.0 was optimized for Tablets, but they only smoothed out the performance and didn’t really add any features for tablets. If they added the quick controls into Dolphin, I would probably switch back since this version seems to be almost as smooth, if not as smooth, as the stock browser is.

Also, flash works better on Dolphin Mini than it does on Dolphin HD.

I have tried Dolphin twice and it has failed twice to beat out xScope for me.

A few things I liked in the Stock Browser over the previous full release of Dolphin were:

    1. Google Instant worked in the stock browser and not dolphin
    2. Stock Browser has ability to dial a phone number by clicking on the number
    3. Stock Browser is able to know my location to return search results near my current location.

Besides those three things I really like Dolphin Browser a lot.  Might have to give Dolphin 5 a try.

I’ve only used dolphin for about a year now and I’ve always been able to do all of those.

  •  ive been using dolphin for over a year now, when i flashed the 2.3 leak onto my D2 i went for a week or two trying to use the stock browser again and i just missed the features and love how i can setup dolphin to work in desktop mode so no need for those retarded mobile pages

  • Zube

tried to go to my first web site on this, before i could finish typing the thing froze up.

No matter what alternative browser I try out I always return to stock in the end.

    • greg

basically. Having three browsers to open one website is oc.

The thing that really frustrates me with the stock browser is the zoom buttons that pop up in the lower right corner.  When you have pinch to zoom why is this even there?  Or better yet, an option to remove it?

  • Zube

    Flash support?

    • Zube

Ill answer my own question…Yes, it does support flash

    •  I think firefox is the only one that doesn’t support flash

  • Alejandrorfernandez

     worked fine for me

  • bnitty

it’s not in the market yet & the direct download won’t open

  •  So what is the difference between Dolphin HD and Dolphin Mini?  HD just seems bloated to me…

    •  Mini is optimized for lower end model phones while HD is for the high end devices

    • John

mini is quicker and can’t be skinned. it also doesn’t support extensions. it’s not a big trade off imo. mini is faster if you’re looking for an alt browser. i wish stock would support tabbed browsing & a new bookmark UI. it’d be unbeatable
