Official @DroidLanding DROID X Scavenger Hunt Rules

(Click for big boy version.)

Well we now know that the Droid X‘s which appear to be arriving early have nothing to do with the @DroidLanding scavenger hunt that many of you have been following.  How do we know this?  Because the official rules have been released.

The most important part has to do with actually finding one of the hidden devices…

3. How to Participate in the Promotion and Claim a Prize: During the Promotion Period, there will be a Scavenger Hunt, where 21 Certificates for a free Droid Phone will be hidden across the country. Clues as to where the 21 Droid Certificates (“Certificates”) will be hidden will be tweeted on a regular basis from @DroidLanding. To view the tweets, visit http://www.twitter.com/droidlanding. Dates and times of Certificate placement will vary, but the final clue of each GPS location for each Certificate will be tweeted at the time it is hidden. Participants will have 4 hours from the time of the posting of the final clue to find the Certificate and once it is found, follow the instructions on the Certificate to claim their prizes, subject to verification…

So basically, @DroidLanding will tweet GPS coordinates over the next 7-8 days and if your city has one hidden, you have 4 hours to find the representative who is holding a certificate for a Droid X.  Let the battles begin!

Oh they also mention the full retail price of the DX…

4. Prizes and Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): Prizes (21): A Verizon Wireless Droid Phone ARV $569.99 each.

If the image above doesn’t suit your reading needs, check out the official rules here.

My eye is on #7.  Which one are you following?

Cheers Tabe!

If it’s anything like the first X “search” or “hunt” I wouldn’t bother until the Official Rules are published.

Is it just me, or does this sound like they're willing to pay for “out of pocket expenses” of participants? I'm saving my gas receipts just in case…

“As a condition of participating in the Promotion, participant agrees that: 1) under no circumstance will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to…any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses… and 3) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred…”

Looks like these rules don't really apply since the one in DC was found before the GPS coordinates even went out. WTF?
