Rambler, which is one of the best features in the Pixel 11 series, is actually powered by Gemini 3.5 Transcribe, Google announced today. This new speech-to-text model is about to take over all sorts of products, but the one you should be most aware of is Chrome.
Backing up for a second, Gemini 3.5 Transcribe is a speech-to-text model that can actually do two things: transcribe in real-time or process pre-recorded audio. The real-time transcription is what powers Rambler and brings the insane speech-to-text feature in Gboard on the Pixel 11 series. We’ve already talked about how much we love it.
The power of Gemini 3.5 Transcribe is that it handles self-corrections, removes filler words, and is far more precise. It’s also smart enough to recognize your custom vocabulary and specialized jargon as it transcribes, in real-time, your speech. In the end, this all allows for more natural speaking at length and services like Rambler returning exactly what you said.
As I mentioned above, Gemini 3.5 Transcribe is official today, but it already powers Rambler through Gboard on Android. It’s also in the Gemini app on MacOS and will soon be in Chrome.
Once in Chrome, Google says, “You’ll be able to talk to type in any web field,” which could mean dictating full replies or draft posts or prompts for Gemini. Because this is Gemini 3.5 Transcribe, that’ll mean less errors and cleaner text even if you pause or say “umm.”
