Podcast Listening and Discovery Comes Straight to Google Search

Starting today, should you be searching for podcasts on any given subject, you can go straight to Google Search and find exactly what you’re looking for.

For example, let’s say you’re looking for a podcast about BBQ. In Google Search, simply type in “BBQ podcast.” From there, Google will return playable episodes of podcasts about BBQ. Should you want to listen to one, it’ll take you right to Google Podcasts for listening.

Soon, you won’t necessarily need the term “podcast” in your search to see episodes, making podcast discovery simpler across Google Search.

Google also announced the following coming later this year.

Later this year, we’ll be bringing the same functionality to the Google Assistant and Google Podcasts for web. For example, when you ask the Assistant for podcasts about a certain topic, such as “Hey Google, play a podcast about Marie Curie,” it will suggest relevant episodes for you. In Google Podcasts for web, you’ll be able to search for relevant shows and episodes and listen right there on your computer or phone.

Of course, you can always search “Droid Life podcast” and instantly listen to us if you’re interested in Android news.
