SHIELD TV Upgrade 7.2 Includes Amazon Music App, 5.1 Audio for YouTube, Latest Security Patch

A new Experience Upgrade, labeled as 7.2, is rolling out to SHIELD TV owners today. Inside, NVIDIA is including the latest security patch for Android TV, the all-new Amazon Music app for Android TV, as well as 5.1 audio for YouTube.

According to the log, this update also includes SMBv3 when connecting SHIELD TV to a NAS or PC, customizable Quick Settings, and an option for automatic download and install of software updates.

Important to note, SHIELD TV is back on sale for the holiday shopping season. Every edition, which includes the Gaming Edition, Smart Home Edition, and standard “with Remote” version are listed at $30 off across the web. At $30 off, the standard model is only $149, Gaming Edition is $169, and the Smart Home Edition is $189.
