We don’t typically showcase items that aren’t directly Android related, but the following deal is just too cool not to share and it is technically related to Android in a roundabout way. Listed as a Best Buy doorbuster deal, anyone who purchases a 14-cup Bella Pro coffeemaker for $30, down from its usual price of $60, will receive a free Insignia Voice Smart Bluetooth speaker with Google Assistant built-in.
What makes this is a super bonus deal is the fact that this Insignia speaker is typically $99 (rated quite well, too!), currently on sale for $50, but comes free with the purchase of the Bella coffeemaker. It’s one of the oddest, but intriguing deals I think we’ve ever come across.
Do note, though, that while this Insignia speaker acts the same way as a Google Home, like answer to “Ok Google” and control your other smart home products, it does not support voice calls. That could be a deal breaker for some. On the bright side, it does have a digital clock, so if having Google Assistant next to your bed to act as an alarm clock and on-demand weatherman sounds cool, then there you go.
As for the coffeemaker, according to Best Buy’s listing, “It lets you schedule brewing up to 24 hours in advance, and its strength selector has regular, gourmet and bold options to suit your taste.” To sum it up, it makes coffee, but doesn’t have any real smarts that makes it a better pairing with the Insignia speaker.
If getting this Insignia speaker for just $30 intrigues you, plus the free coffeemaker, check it out by following the link below.
Update: It appears Best Buy has pulled the free Insignia speaker with the coffeemaker purchase at this time, but you can keep checking the page periodically to see if they add it back. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Cheers Mark!

Way late to the party on this. I scored one last week free with the purchase of a $12.99 corkscrew. $12.99 shipped.
Did someone forget to tag this in Deals?
This shows the data collection these units do is so valuable they are willing to give it away. NOTHING is free.
You’re right, but I for one, am willing to give up my data for free stuff. It’ll just go back to ads anyways, a massive industry making tons of money, and if that’s going to google, I’m fine with it.
Appears to be back.
I was able to go into the store and buy the coffee maker in the article (now $40) and get the free speaker. It looks like I could have bought the Magic Bullet blender for $30 if they would have had it in stock and gotten the speaker for free too.
I got the one with the battery for $90 a couple of months ago to replace my bedside alarm clock. LOVE IT!!!
If you need any small appliances go to a best buy store and you will probably get a speaker for free. I got one wit a 15 dollar wine bottle opener.
which speaker did you get?
Probably the speaker in the article. Best Buy has been giving it away with the purchase of many small appliances. I got it with a blender.
There are 2 insignia voice speakers, the free one is the smaller of the 2 without the battery.
Looks like the deal is dead. Speaker is not being added to cart for me and several others have reported the same on the Slickdeals thread.
Dammit! Then they should pull the offer, right?
I bought a microwave yesterday that came with the speaker too
Actually it looks like that free speaker add on deal is dead. Not seeing it on any of the home appliances now.
I’ve got one of these. Speaker works well and is loud and has much better sound quality than the mini. I’d notch it slightly below the regular Google Home. Not doing voice calls is annoying but it does double as a Bluetooth speaker out of the box so there’s a way to mitigate that. Overall, solid little speaker that’s usually on sale for $40-50.
I bought the $20 waffle iron to get this speaker but it looks like it’s only available for local store pick up now.

Me 2
Best Buy has a ton of these free speaker deals right now. I got in on a package with a Magic Bullet Blender, this speaker, and a $10 gift card for $30. You can find all of the deals where you get this speaker free with various small appliances here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/small-appliance-free-speaker-offer?ref=8575135&loc=9cf7988ee51111e786290675b876cbfa0INT&acampID=9cf7988ee51111e786290675b876cbfa0INT
The speaker is actually quite decent. In between the Google Home and the Google Home Mini from a sound quality standpoint, and the clock is a big bonus. It also includes Bluetooth connectivity.
My insignia had weird issues. it doesnt do calls, it doesnt allow for the broadcast feature either. i dont think its worth it.
Depends on what you’re using it for. I think it works best as a bedside clock as mentioned in the article. Also works as a great as a second or third unit throughout the house. I have this, a Home, and a Home Mini, and it’s great to play music across them all. The broadcast feature works perfectly with mine.
But if you’re looking to make it your only smart speaker, you’ll definitely lose out on a few things.
The article clearly states “it does not support voice calls”.
Free isn’t worth it? https://media.giphy.com/media/CFpxc7SmOm7C0/giphy.gif
