Google Play Listings Will Soon List Out In-App Purchase Prices

I think it’s safe to say that the freemium application model can be a bit frustrating at times. While we love free apps, the idea that you never know what kinds of in-app purchases will be semi-forced upon you shortly after installation isn’t exactly exciting. Wouldn’t it be much more helpful if Google or developers told us in-app purchase prices up front, that way we knew exactly what we were about to get ourselvecs into? The Google Play store is about to, actually.

According to a developer console announcement that popped up over the weekend, Google informed developers that beginning September 30, all apps “offering in-app purchases to users will have an ‘in-app purchases’ price range displayed on their detail page.” Price ranges will include both in-app products and subscriptions.

Thank you, Google.
