With Android 4.4 hitting AOSP yesterday, it was only a matter of time before the first set of stock ROMs started showing up for our favorite devices. An AOSP Nexus 4 ROM was the first to pop into our inboxes late last night, though we are sure there could be more at this point. For now though, we wanted to share this to get you into the comments and sharing others for other devices.

In this ROM, you are looking at the purest of stock ROMs. In fact, it doesn’t even have the new Google Home launcher that was pulled from the Nexus 5 dump. So if you want that beautiful new home replacement, you’ll have to sideload it just like you did last night. This ROM also doesn’t come with Gapps, however, there is a download link for those as well.

This ROM really is all about testing out the first build of Android 4.4. You’ll see new animations, smooth transitions, new lock screen setup, updated menus here and there, Tap & pay settings, Print settings, and even that lovely new Easter Egg. Here are some screenshots:

To flash, you’ll obviously need a rooted Nexus 4 with a custom recovery (Clockwork worked best for me, ran into issues with TWRP). Then at the link below, you’ll find both the AOSP ROM file and the Gapps package. That’s it. Enjoy!

Any other ROMs out there that we should know about?
