Back in December, Verizon ran a promo that would land you an extra 2GB of bonus data per month per line for life. All you needed to do to get the 24GB of extra data each year was sign-up or be on an XL or XXL plan and then upgrade to or activate a new phone. Today, that promo returns for a limited time. (more…)
Back in February, Verizon did a big re-shuffling of its More Everything data plans that included the introduction of a bunch of new tiers, $10 discounts on many, and slight increases on a few. This morning, they did another big shuffling that wiped out many of those new plans, brought back others, and kept the $10 discounts. Let’s talk about what’s new, gone, and what stayed the same. According to a reliable source, Verizon is going to make changes to the majority of its More Everything plans this Thursday, February 5. The changes will include $10 discounts to most data options, a handful of new data tiers to choose from, and the $25 Edge discount starting even lower going forward at just 6GB of data. On October 16, Verizon has a few changes to introduce to its Edge monthly device payment plan and a couple for its MORE Everything plans. According to multiple sources, we are looking at a bump from 20 to 24 monthly payments on Edge, a higher percentage of the device needing pay-off before an upgrade can occur, and bigger per line discounts if on Edge. Verizon is also adjusting its single line plans, moving them back to their original $60 and $75 price points.

With almost every other major US carrier announcing some sort of double data promotion within the last month (Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile), we were starting to wonder if Verizon was going to completely ignore the trend and instead stick to their current set of MORE Everything plans that are really looking overpriced at the moment. It appears as if they are joining the party after all. In a blog post this morning, Verizon has announced that many of their MORE Everything plans are seeing double the data with no price hikes for a limited time. (more…)
AT&T, essentially admitting that the insanely high prices that carriers have been charging you for tiered data over the last couples of years was highway robbery, is now offering double the data on its plans that range from 15GB to 50GB for the same price…for life. That’s right, if you pay for a 15GB plan, you can now get 30GB of data for the exact same price for as long as you want – there is no expiration. Same thing goes for 20GB, 30GB, 40GB, and 50GB plans; all have been doubled without a price adjustment. For $130 per month (plus the line access charges), you can have 30GB of data to gobble up per month on up to 10 lines. Or, you could up to 40GB ($150), 60GB ($225), 80GB ($300), and 100GB ($375) at the prices you have been paying. (more…)
