The build is available as an “open” beta, which means we can all update to it right now without much work. You see, OnePlus makes updating incredibly easy as long as you have a file to flash. With these open betas, that’s exactly what they provide. (more…)
On New Year’s Eve, OnePlus squeezed in a couple of announcement posts to share to the world that Android Nougat is here for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Well, sort of. They announced that they were starting the incremental rollout of each update, so you may not have seen it yet, as they do so slowly to hopefully not send out an update that could cause problems for everyone. Related, though, they also released a beta of Nougat for the OnePlus 3T, for those who don’t want to wait for the stable build. (more…)
The OnePlus 3T has been in house for a good week or so now and it’s bringing back very similar vibes to the OnePlus 3, which makes sense since they are both so similar. Those are good vibes, by the way, as the original OnePlus 3 was already one of our favorite phones of the year. So what’s with the OnePlus 3T? Should you be mad about it’s existence so soon or excited that a company was able to improve a phone this quickly? Maybe a bit of both, but I’d lean towards the latter. Let’s talk about those ideas in this OnePlus 3T review. (more…)
Ready for Nougat on your OnePlus 3? OnePlus released an OxygenOS open beta of Android Nougat today for the device, so you can get in on this action right now. In fact, the file, details, and instructions are all available this very moment. What are you waiting for?
According to OnePlus, this should bring all of the Nougat fun you were hoping for, like new notification designs, multi-window, tweaked settings design, and direct replies within notifications. We all know that the OnePlus 3T is really just a slightly upgraded version of the OnePlus 3. That’s not taking anything away from the quality or value of either phone, but when it comes to software updates, one has to wonder how that process will work going forward, right? According to OnePlus, they should start to see updates on the exact same schedule here before long. In fact, once they each receive the update to Android Nougat, they will be on the same schedule going forward. (more…)
is going to unveiled the OnePlus 3T here in a bit today, a follow-up or slight spec bump to the OnePlus 3 (review). They haven’t have officially announced it yet, but and their website has plenty of cached information all of the information about the new phone. Since that information is readily available, we used that info in a comparison to show you what has changed from the original OnePlus 3 to this new model.
The changes are pretty straight forward, for the most part. You have Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 821 processor (820 in the original), both 64GB and 128GB storage options (both UFS 2.0 as well), 16MP Samsung front camera in the 3T (8MP in the original), and a 3400mAh battery (3000mAh in the original). That’s pretty much it.
You can see the full comparison below. (more…)
