AT&T Moto X Android 4.4.2 Update Approved as Build 165.44.1

The Android 4.4.2 update for the AT&T Moto X has been approved by all parties and should begin to rollout as build 165.44.1. A soak test for the update was scheduled to begin last week, so we’ll just assume that went well.

Motorola posted up the changelog for the update this afternoon, showing an identical update to the other carrier variants of the Moto X, in that it brought cloud printing, better battery life, and fixed an email sync issue. Well, there was one difference – the AT&T model “fixed a bug that caused data connectivity issues for AT&T Moto X users while traveling outside the US.”

Hmm. The soak test for att just went live yesterday so not sure how it’s already approved

  • NemaCystX

The soak just started yesterday, and they were giving us 2 days unless we found something that was a game stopper they were going to push it out to everyone. So far it has improved battery life as promised but I am unsure it fixed the issues with bluetooth skipping

Actually, slight correction, we didn’t get the update pushed out to us to test until today, but that is the changelog they gave us. No one seems to have any issues with it so I’d expect a full roll out soon enough

This is exactly why Moto X is the beset phone on the market right now. It blows anything LG, Samsung, or HTC offers. It’s still not as good as iPhone, but it’s still the best mid-spec Android ever and possibly ever will be. I love my Moto X and I hate other retarded Android phones.

I have an LG G2 and the girlfriend has a Moto X.. G2 bests the Moto X in every aspect, so I’m going to assume you are a troll and forgot “/s” on your post. Kthx

        Besides updates…

        • Just_Some_Nobody

          AT&T G2 is sitting at 4.4.2 already. Where’s the Moto X? Oh, yeah…

          • Guest

            Boom lol

          • Aaron

Every other moto X variant has already been on 4.4.2 for a while now, how about all the other G2 variants besides At&T. Oh, yeah…

    • Just_Some_Nobody

Go outside and enjoy the sun. All the darkness is getting to you.
      They’re phones. Simply phones.

  • BloodiedWraith

It also adds Isis Mobile Wallet support and comes with the app preinstalled. Yay bloat!

Sweet. Droid Maxx 4.4.2 update sometime soon? This time with KitKat white icons and dialer that’s on Moto X. Oh yeah…get rid of the old blur icon for the People app too!

  • hyperbeatser

I’m going to say it, and still not believe it – My VERIZON Moto X has been nicely running 4.4.2 for several weeks now =)

    • DJ SPY

You’re lucky. I’m sending mind back and getting a new one. Nothing but trouble with 4.4.2

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Everytime I see a Moto X story it’s about Kit Katt surprised ATT hasn’t pushed 4.4.2 yet.

    • Kevin

I see what you did there. 🙂

  • Ben Murphy

Imma let them finish but um, where’s my G2 KitKat LG??

    • Kevin

      Moto X phone. Best phone.

      • Not really… It’s a good phone, don’t get me wrong, but it’s far from the best phone.

        • Kevin

          Moto X Master Race.

        • Sean Walton

I have used so many Android devices and keep coming back to my Moto X. I even dumped my N5 for it. What phone do you think is better and why? I’m just curious.

          • The Narrator

The G2 is perfect in every way. The battery, the screen, the software, Let’s not forget the best smartphone camera on the market too.

          • Sean Walton

Cool thanks for that, much appreciated. I found one problem with your comment.

“Let’s not forget the best smartphone camera on the market too.”

The Lumia 1020 kills the G2 let’s be totally honest.

          • The Narrator

Well , there’s the Android, Windows Phone, and iOS market, so yes, the 1020 is the best in its market.

          • G2 here as well. I have both the G2 on Verizon and Moto X on T-Mobile, whenever I want to use my phone for anything I go right to the G2 – best display on the market.

          • Sean Walton

Cool I am hearing lot’s of great feedback on the G2. I have a buddy who is debating on getting the G2 so I will let him your your thoughts on it.

The display is not that much of a deal breaker for me. I love my Moto X for the Active Display and Moto Assist, those mean more to me than the display.

          • The G2 is just a more enjoyable experience IMO. When using the Moto X, the display is dull, dim, and small. The G2 since it’s an LCD is bright white, accurate colors, no dullness at all, and is a larger 5.2″. The G2 also has a very large 3000mAh battery, fantastic camera with OIS, top of the line specs, etc. At this point though I’d wait until the G3 specs come out

        • Travis Halfman

It’s the best Android phone I’VE ever owned!

    • Guest

By end of march all carriers. Might be behind the X but you wont have battery drain issues from a rushed update. 😉

    • Just_Some_Nobody

LG is done with Kit Kat on the G2. It’s up to someone else, now, to hand it to you.
It’s on my AT&T G2. Though, to be honest, it was just fine before the update. It really only matters most to the About Box people.

    • The Narrator

Most carriers have it except Sprint and Verizon. They sent it out, not much else they can do.
