First Image of the Supposed Samsung Galaxy S Tab Plus Hits the Web

Galaxy Tab 3

Could this be our first look at an upcoming super tablet from Samsung? Apparently, it very well could be. According to SamMobile, this is the Galaxy S Tab, as Samsung supposedly decided to apply their marketing and ad knowledge to their lineup of high-end tablets, ditching the numbered Galaxy Tab scheme.

Below we have listed out the rumored specs for your inspection. Nothing is official, but so far I like what I see. Powering the Galaxy S Tab would be the new Octa processor with 2GB of RAM, plenty of storage options, a whopping 9,000mAh battery, and a pretty decent 2560 x 1600 high-res display. Not bad, right?

Specs:

  • Samsung Exynos 5410 Octa CPU
  • 4 x (1.6GHz ARM-Cortex A15) 4 x (1.2GHz ARM-Cortex A7)
  • Imagination Power SGX 544MP3 GPU
  • 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB and 64GB Models
  • MicroSD card storage expansion (up to 64B)
  • 9000 mAh standard li-ion battery
  • 10.055″ 2560×1600 display – 300PPI
  • Could be PLS LCD or Super AMOLED ‘PENTILE’
  • 8 Megapixel camera with AF
  • 1080p Video@30fps
  • 2 megapixel front facing camera with AF
  • 1080p Video@30fps
  • IR Blaster

According to these specifications, this tablet is a beast through and through. If anything, take this tablet and couple it with a Bluetooth controller and you might have a sweet mobile game center.

Why is there a phone speaker at the top. Oh my freaking god. Will you be able to put this thing up against your face and make phone calls????

  • ceejw

So it’s a Nexus 10 with physical buttons made with cheap glossy plastic and running touchwiz. Sounds awesome!

  • Tony Allen

I’ll be holding out for the next Nexus 10. I can only hope it comes with similar internals. I

  • Kizaru Hiruko

Is that an earpiece on the top of the tablet? How on Earth am I supposed to hold that thing to my face?!

  • Collin C. MacMillan

It’s clearly a GS4 that’s been photoshopped and stretched. The 2GB spec seems a dead giveaway that it’s not real: there’s not enough RAM for the resolution and Android 5 (based on other announcements.)

  • NemaCystX

eh, I think this is fake, why would you need an earpiece on the top. Just looks like a glorified stretched Galaxy S4 with some photoshop work to me alot of that stuff they wouldn’t put on a tablet, the home button is a given, but the other buttons like the back and menu button are out of place on a tablet that uses on screen navigation

  • http://twitter.com/tanujrocks Tanuj Chokshi

You COULD have a sweet mobile gaming center IF any of the games on android were any good -_-

  • Michael swaim

Samsung need to make a White version of the Nexus 10(with the internals of this one).

  • C-Law

This is a perfect example of why Samsung should use on screen nav keys!

  • bigachx

Seems like this German site is already on a mission to prove the fakeness of those images: http://www.hightechx.de/beweis-neues-bild-vom-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-plus-ist-nur-ein-fake/

  • Matt Kelley

Guys, there is an ear speaker grill and prox sensor holes on the top. This is a stretched out phone from the depths of Photoshop.

  • Preston

Oh God is that Comic Sans?

  • Dain Laguna

samsungs best tablet doesnt run touchwiz ;)

  • RAZR_FANN

2560×1600 is “pretty decent” now. lol

    • NemaCystX

well it isn’t a standard yet, try buying a computer monitor with that native resolution, not many are out there and if there are, there over $600. I love my Asus monitor

2560xXXXX is just becoming a new standard its not quite there but it will be soon

  • TheFirstUniverseKing

Guys, if this tablet is like my Note II, the physical buttons can be disabled and completely hidden (they blend in with this device).

  • Matthew Merrick

Perhaps it’s a Galaxy Tab S? I can understand someone making that mistake.

But seriously hardware keys on tablets need to die in a fire. Especially the menu button. That’s just not OK. I can SORTA get it on a phone but on a tablet? Hell no. Also, with a button setup like this, how the hell are you gonna use it in portrait? The buttonhole the Note 8 are pretty much a dealbreaker as it is, but at least it can be thought of/used like a Über-Phablet. aka, in portrait mode. Hardware buttons in landscape mode are just STUPID.

looks like my next tablet is gonna be an Asus.. .. .

So they made a white nexus 10 with an octa processor?

  • Kyu Jin Choi

If you guys look carefully theres also a speaker piece at the top…

All it looks like to me is an extension of a galaxy s 4 with photoshop

ppl arent gonna be on the phone with this thing are they?

    • JoshGroff

Nice catch, shows how much I was paying attention.

  • RichFromBX

can’t wait to see that sweet verizon logo on the home button when the LTE version is dropped…yuck

  • http://www.naskaras.com/ Thanassi Karageorgiou

Is it just me or is it becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between all of Samsung’s tablets. The other day I was in Costco, and I saw a Glaxay Tab 2 10.1 next to a Galaxy Note 10.1 and I couldnt tell the difference, nor am I familiar with the spec differences. Now we have a Galaxy S Tab? Geez.

  • http://twitter.com/kejar31 Justin Rogers

IDK this image looks fake to me…

  • EC8CH

Ok Sammy, stop it with the physical buttons… this isn’t funny anymore.

  • gimlet72

I am waiting for the next ASUS tablet.. I love the keyboard dock. I dropped my current tablet the screen is all cracked up.

    • Futbolrunner

      me too pal

  • Michael

    Nexus 10 lookalike?

    • Austin Warren

      Yes, a product they made.

  • Daniel Zhao

I am really getting sick of Samsung using hardware buttons on their devices. On phones, maybe, but come on, even on tablets (this and the Note 8.0)? Sometimes I wish Google could step in and require manufacturers to implement certain aspects of Android.

    • Justin Winker

Don’t know why the downvote, but I completely agree. Hardware nav keys on a tablet just don’t work very well..

      • Kathleen E. Smith

Peyton. even though Billy`s remark is unimaginable, last week I got a brand new Mercedes after making $6994 this-last/4 weeks and would you believe, $10 thousand last-month. this is actually the most-comfortable work I have ever had. I started this 10-months ago and right away began to make at least $79, per hour. I use the details on this web-site, . http://www.facebookProjects2013.qr.net/kgS5

    • Jason Kahn

Its insane, it forces you to use the device in landscape, using it in portrait just puts the buttons in the wrong place. Apple gets away with a single button because its a single button. But putting the menu and back keys on the bottom shows clear disregard from a usability aspect.

  • aznmode1

I was really hoping for a front dual speakers

    • EC8CH

I know, right. That’s the best thing that came out of the apple lawsuits. Too bad they’re not making front facing speakers their design standard.

  • Jroc869, Nexus-Life

Leave it to Sammy to put buttons on every damn thing

    • michael arazan

20-1 Samsung smartwatch will have the damn button too

  • http://twitter.com/ranwanimator Randall Wanamaker

    Comic Sans. Really?

    • sean.yesmunt

Dang. Saw the Comic Sans and thought it was finally my time for a top comment. I will wait.

    • Xious

That’s the only thing that makes me think this is fake. Who still uses ComicSans in a professional setting?

      • http://www.theprogrocker.com/ John

Unfortunately….tons of people. not to mention this comic sans has a gradient to it as well. Never use comic sans for anything ever.

      • vitriolix

        Your life partner, Samsung

  • http://twitter.com/misterE33 Mr E

I can barely wait for the next Note tablet (10″ or bigger). I’m mainly looking just for s-pen and dual front-facing speakers

  • triangle8

Not such a great name as people will call it the Galaxy Stab.

    • http://twitter.com/misterE33 Mr E

      comes with exclusive dagger accessory!

      • mustbepbs

        S Dagger

        • Austin Warren

          S Blade

          • MentatYP

            S Word

    • PhoenixPath

My first thought exactly, though with one minor change: I thought it was a great name.

Here, let me stab that for you….

    • JoshGroff

      Same-type attack bonus?

  • http://twitter.com/NotSoSiniSter Anthony Gomulka

Proof that Samsung can’t design an original product, but they can perfect one. Nexus 10 ripoff anyone?

    • http://www.dsaif.com/ Saif

      That’s their own product

    • Tommy Thompson

Samsung had tablets out before the Nexus 10. Samsung helped Google develop the Nexus 10. The screen on the Nexus 10 is SAMSUNG made..

    • T4rd

How does one rip off their own product? Lol

      • JoshGroff

        Magic.

        • PhoenixPath

But Magic is Apple’s….you know what happened the last time they tried that….

          • JoshGroff

I can smell the lawsuits already.

          • PhoenixPath

            …like magic. ;-)

    • PhoenixPath

      Um…

      Hey, Anthony?

      Hi.

Just thought I’d drop in and let ya know that the Nexus 10 you speak of: That’s a Samsung tablet.

It looks quite a bit like the other Samsung tablets that came before it, actually.

      • JoshGroff

More proof, they’ve been ripping off designs for years!

        • PhoenixPath

          Heh…Yes….

They could rip off the competition, but they tend to get slammed when they do that. They have found, it seems, that it is far easier to rip themselves off….as it were.

          :-/

          ..or something.

      • http://twitter.com/NotSoSiniSter Anthony Gomulka

Wow. I’m stuck thinking Asus with google tablets. I’ll shut up.

    • Floski

      Wow. Just… wow.

    • MentatYP

      Holy priceless irony Batman.

    • NemaCystX

go back and read that comment back to yourself and look up who makes the Nexus 10

Samsung made the Galaxy Nexus and even borrowed alot of design aspects from it for the Galaxy S3

Google designs the Nexus devices but the OEM builds them (ie: Samsung, HTC, LG etc)

    • Jroc869, Nexus-Life

Dude you just made me face palm myself so hard I gave my self a concussion

  • http://twitter.com/gotteric Eric Gottlieb

    Physical buttons… Really?

    • PhoenixPath

If CM/AOKP/AOSP could be put on this thing and the physical buttons *disabled*, I’d consider it depending on cost.

I don’t want both sets of buttons enabled. Just the on-screen, and have the physical BS disabled completely.

  • Austin Warren

I think it should shoot 1080p at 60fps also.

  • ChristianJohnson

    It’s powered by imagination!! o__O

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Wait… what’s the screen Size? AND WHY ARE THOSE BUTTONS IN TEH MIDDLE?…… Google also does that. All buttons should be closest to your thumbs. Not in the middle of the device. I feel the same way about those software buttons on the N7 and N10. why am I stretching to the middle of the screen to do something basic?

  • brkshr

Why would they put buttons on a tablet?

  • joejoe5709

    Terrible name. Samsung Galaxy “STab”?

Those specs are beasty. Despite the name, I love it already.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Ian.Pomplin Ian Pomplin

Physical buttons on a tablet? Wut?
