Samsung announced two new members of its Galaxy Tab 3 family this morning, the Tab 3 10.1 and Tab 3 8. As one would assume from the naming scheme, one has a 10.1″ display, while the other sports an 8″ display. Keep in mind that the Tab family is Samsung’s budget-friendly line of tablets, while the Note line is their higher-end range. So yes, we’re looking at budget tablets that will likely drop at low prices across the globe.
With the Tab 3 10.1, you are looking at a 1280×800 display, dual-core processor, only 1GB of RAM, low-res cameras, and Android 4.2.2. With the Tab 3 8, you have an 8″1280×800 display, dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, and Android 4.2.2 all wrapped into the body of a tablet that matches the form factor of the iPad Mini. I know that may sound ridiculous, but just look at it.
Both tablets, along with the previously announced Tab 3 7, will be available globally in June.
